I made an order from a local Scentsy rep last week, and after I had paid her she said it would take 2-3 weeks for the items to come in.
Is this a normal turn around timeframe?
She said it was b/c Scentsy was still so new, and there was in influx of new reps and Scentsy was trying to catch up..... http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

I always tell people 2-3 weeks just to be on the safe side. If it comes earlier than it's more of a treat.
It really depends on the activity I think. There is a huge influx of orders when a catalog is ending and when a new catalog starts, which is where we are right now.
I put a party order in at the end of February and got it within 7 days, but I wouldn't promise that to any customers.
I don't think 2-3 weeks is unusual for a direct sales company, is it? When I buy from other companies I always assume it's going to take a couple weeks.

It also depends on when the rep put the order in - did she hold it for a few days after you ordered it or did it go in same day? And also where you are located. We currently have two distribution centers, one in Idaho and one in Chicago. Depending on how close you live to one of them will also determine delivery times. I am only 3 hours away from Chicago so I generally get mine within one day of shipment. I've even received, on a few occasions, delivery within two days of ordering! So it really just depends on a number of variables.
As a point of reference, as of yesterday, the date of order that my customer orders were shipped was 2/28/08 - so those were shipped within three (3) business days.

Thank you Laurie and Loretta for answering.
Ifeel yes that 2-3 weeks is a long time for a DS delivery.
I haveworked with 3 direct sales companies and all 3 have shipped within 24/48 hours of ordering and is usually at my home within 5 days.
I have ordered from many other DS companies, and have never waited 2-3 weeks for a delivery, thats why I found it odd, and which prompted my question.
I will sit tight, and hope its sooner than 2-3 weeks for delivery :)

I am not with Scentsy, but I just had to add my 2 cents from experience with my former DS company.
We also had a 2 - 3 weeks shipping time. This was for a couple of reasons:
1. The company is new and has a very tiny staff. During the time I worked for them, they had ONE person who packed up the boxes for shipping! The company founders themselves are known to pitch in and pack boxes at busy times of the year.
2. Each candle is hand poured, so there isn't a huge stock to pull from to fill orders. They do keep candles on hand, of course, because if they didn't do that it would really take forever to fill orders! But hand pouring them definitely slows down production!
We too also found that orders often came in less than 2 weeks, but as someone stated above, if you tell people "2 - 3 weeks", it's a pleasant surprise when it comes on day 10. If you tell them "About a week" and it comes on day 10, it's upsetting and frustrating. It's all in how you present it, I think!
I think companies with things like jewelry, housewares, or other products that can be warehoused in bulk can get things out much more quickly. So it's hard to compare from DS company to DS company, especially when they are selling very different things.
Hope this helps! :)

Do you have a rep locator on the scentsy website?Im curious about the products..(just as a customer) but would like to see if there is someone in my area.I also want to comment about taking to 2-3 weeks...I used to rep for a candle company that took 2 weeks too and I didnt mind, and the products were great and If I had a question about my order I just called the company and actually spoke with the owners so for me I didnt mind waiting. The customers I had at that time didnt mind either.

You won't be sorry signing up with Scentsy! I am having a blast with it. I am constantly thinking of ways to get my name out there. In the area I live in I am the only consultant. I have contacted my girlfriends that work at banks, planning on giving my beautician a book to see if there is interest there. Plus hitting up just about everyone that I come in contact with some sort of conversation about Scentsy.
Good luck in what ever you decide!
