Hi everyone!
I am so excited, but scared and sad all at the same time! About 10 days ago my husband lost his second job, and along with it 40% of our income. We had to return a bunch of Christmas gifts and to say we were stressed out would be the understatement of our year. We knew that my home-based business was the only feasible way for me to help out by making the amount of money we need. So, time to kick it into high gear....right? Well, something just wasn't feeling right.
Here we were, no longer able to pay our billsand having to downsize drastically. Of course I can go without fancy stuff for the house, no big deal at all. But then, when I look at my catalogs, all I see is the fancy stuff that I no longer want. Things just weren't feeling the same.
At the same time, I was always worried about what my DH would think the next time I had to place my Arbonne order. I mean, come on, there is just NO WAY that I can go without my Arbonne! I found myself literally praying to find a way to make enough money so that I could purchase my Arbonne favorites guilt-free. When I realized that, I figured that maybe I should look more closely into the Arbonne opportunity. I spent a week doing research and I just got more and more excited and passionate about the products I was using and all the others that I haven't had a chance to try yet. I realized that my passion is changing. I called my sponsor yesterday to inform her of my intention to make Arbonne thefocus of my efforts.
While I'm terribly excited about the opportunity to share Arbonne and go into it 100%, I know thatI will eventually have to leave AHA behind. I'm very sad about that. AHA is absolutely the best company I have ever worked with and I can hardly imagine my life without AHA. And yet, at the same time, I just can't get over how excited I am about the life-changing characteristics of Arbonne products. And the chance to go doa party with only one bag to carry in just makes me want to jump for joy!!!
I'mwondering what you guys think I should do about my current AHA team. Part of me wants to share what I consider GREAT news with them. But at the same time, I don't want to abandon them. Our next team meeting is at my home on the first Sunday in January. Should I say something then? I will do a few AHA shows in January, but as far I'm concerned, after that, I'd love to be all Arbonne. Should I say something in January, or wait until I'm officially going inactive with AHA? I mean, who knows, maybe something will change my mind????
Thank you for your help and support.

I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. I know how tough it is to be financially stressed. Girl, just give it up to God and all will work out.
You said You don't mind downsizing. Take it from me. We just did that. We moved from PA to NC and decided to downsize. We thought life would be great. So we went from a big custom home on 1 1/2 acres, 3 car garage, full finished basement, etc., to a smaller home on .4 acres. I HATE IT!!!! It's the worse thing we ever did. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't. When you are so used to something, it's very hard to do something else. And my husband's been out of work since March, and that totally hurts us. I am more miserable now than ever.
Anyway, I was in another network business but didn't have a passion for that product. And what a difference that makes. If you have a passion for Arbonne, go for it. Do you have that same passion for AHA? If not, I'd make the move and share it with your team. What is the minimum you need to do to keep your team with AHA? Would that be a possibility?Sit down with your husband and go over the pros and cons and make the decision together. If he is supportive of the Arbonne, it makes it easier for both you and he can help you build a successful business. Why would you share Arbonne with your team? Don't prejudge. You never know, you might recruit the next National Vice President!
Best of luck!

When I first became a WB with Arbonne, my husband was totally against it as a business. He loves AHA! But I broke down a few nights ago and told him that in January I want to do a couple Arbonne presentations. He listened as I told him all my reasons. By the end of the talk he whole-heartedly agreed. Now he even seems a little excited about it, too. So I think I have his support to try it for at least 6 months.
To keep my AHA team, I just need to stay in the system. But to get paid from them I need to sell $1000 personal sales. Oh well. I just can't get over my urge to share Arbonne with everyone I know. It seems so much easier. I even told the checker at WalMart about our Get Well Soon. It's so easy!
As for downsizing, we can't even sell our home until summer to avoid paying taxes. It would be a horrible move. We absolutely LOVE our neighbors. But we could also really use a reduced mortgage. But who knows, maybe by then I'll be making enough money through my business(es) that it won't be a problem anymore.
Thanks for sharing your experience with me!

Hi Leah, My prayers are with you and your family through your difficult time. I had just recently, as of December 1st, made the decision to leave my Mary Kay business that I have had established for four years to pursue Arbonne and I had a team of about 10 women. If you have any questions on transitioning, please PM me! I am working through this situation myself right now! Good luck to you and your family! smileys/smiley1.gif

Leah,
In my opinion, Arbonne is definitely for you. When your husband starts to see the money, he'll get even more excited. Why not give him $50 for every $200 you make. He'll be pushing you out the door. Money talks with men!
You go girl!

First, congrats on making such a life changing decision. Making decisions like that are so difficult & you should be proud that you aer able to recognize your passion & act on it.
Technically, it's against policy for you to recruit your downline in your current business. However, as their leader it is important that you let them know of your decision if you are no longer going to work that business. As their upline they depend on you for things & if they are going to have to start going to someone else they deserve to know why. So I think once you are sure & are winding things down with your business you should tell them what you have decided & why. I also don't think you should have to hide your excitement.
Things like this can get tricky b/c people can get emotional. I think as long as you don't try to actively recruit any of them over to be BB for Arbonne then there won't be a problem. Now if they decide on their own to look into it, ask questions, that is their decision.smileys/smiley1.gif
Good luck! My prayers are with you guys.

Thanks Jennifer! I am aware of how unethical it would be to recruit between companies. Actually, the gals on my team would be the last ones I'd actually ask or persue for the Arbonne opportunity. They are doing great with AHA and loving it. I would never want to make them think they have to follow me somewhere. I think though that my decision may cause another gal to leave AHA, but not for Arbonne. She's been involved with Market America's weight loss program and has been very happy and now is helping others do the same. I wouldn't be surprised if she followed that passion as well.
I have 3 AHA shows booked in January. I'll do those shows, but don't know if I really will continue on much beyond that. I don't plan to officially resign until 3 months have passed since my last show. At that point, I would submit a letter and officially step down. So if that could be in April or even later, do I just keep waiting to tell my team? Part of me thinks it would be okay to mention that I'm adding a new business this year, but I don't have to share with them that this could in fact replace AHA for me just yet. Maybe that's the route I will take.
Thanks so much for all your input everybody!

I think if it were me, I would share with everyone you know, including your business partners. They may continue their business with their current company, but they have skin, don't they?? I think they'd be great to ask for the try before you buy trial. Are you planning on working your business that way? These gals may be your first wholesale buyers. I would not discuss your plans to leave your current business completely yet.
You want to avoid them feeling that you've left them "out of the loop", so I think they would appreciate your sharing your new passion with them. Your excitement will show!

I had read in the policies and procedures not to actively recruit consultants of other direct sales companies; however, when I told the girls on my former MK team that I had switched from MK to Arbonne, they were very curious as to why and wanted the specifics. It is hard to contain your enthusiasm too, and it does catch on! The one girl on my team actually asked me about trying the skin care and one of the other girls is interested in trying the Prolief. Is it not our job to share with everyone, though?

I would share the products and that you are adding a new business to your life. I agree that they have skin and would love to try the products. I would wait on telling them that Arbonne will be replacing your current business in the future.I would wait until you are ready to make the decision to step down.
Good Luck!
