Oh Ladies! I am so excited, but scared and sad all at the same time! About 10 days ago my husband lost his second job, and along with it 40% of our income. We had to return a bunch of Christmas gifts and to say we were stressed out would be the understatement of our year. We knew that my home-based business was the only feasible way for me to help out by making the amount of money we need. So, time to kick it into high gear....right? Well, something just wasn't feeling right.
Here we were, no longer able to pay our bills everything and having to downsize drastically. Of course I can go without fancy stuff for the house, no big deal at all. But then, when I look at my catalogs, all I see is the fancy stuff that I no longer want to be tempted with. Things just weren't feeling the same.
At the same time, I was always worried about what my DH would think the next time I had to place my Arbonne order. I mean, come on, there is just NO WAY that I can go without my Arbonne! I found myself literally praying to find a way to make enough money so that I could purchase my Arbonne favorites guilt-free. When I realized that, I figured that maybe I should look more closely into the Arbonne opportunity. I spent a week doing research and I just got more and more excited and passionate about the products I was using and all the others that I haven't had a chance to try yet. I realized that my passion is changing.
While I'm terribly excited about the opportunity to share Arbonne and go into it 100%, I know thatI will eventually have to leave AHA behind. I'm very sad about that. AHA is absolutely the best company I have ever worked with and I can hardly imagine my life without AHA. And yet, at the same time, I just can't get over how excited I am about the life-changing characteristics of Arbonne products. And the chance to go doa party with only one bag to carry in just makes me want to jump for joy!!!
I've seen so many of you post here that to truly be successful you have to follow your passion. I'm beginning to understand that now. But have any of you ever found it a little hard to do?
I'm also wondering what you guys think I should do about my current AHA team. Part of me wants to share what I consider GREAT news with them. But at the same time, I don't want to abandon them. Our next team meeting is the first Sunday in January. Should I say something then? I will do a few AHA shows in January, but as far I'm concerned, after that, I'd love to be all Arbonne. Should I say something in January, or wait until I'm officially going inactive with AHA? I mean, who knows, maybe something will change my mind????
Thank you for your help and support.

I would not share with your team that you are leaving the company until it is official and you KNOW you are not going to be working with them any longer. Like you said, you never know! smileys/smiley2.gif
Good luck with your new business! I'm sure you'll be successfulsmileys/smiley1.gif

smileys/smiley31.gif I know it is difficult, but you have to follow your passion. You have to do what is best and most profitable for you and your family.
I agree - I would wait until you are POSITIVE that you are leaving before telling your team.
Congratulations on your new opportunity!!

Leah, I found myself in the same situation nearly 2 years ago. I was with Longaberger (at that point) for 6 years. I was not doing well and my family desperately needed me to be making money. I loved the products and the company but I was beginning to believe what I'd heard for years about "those expensive baskets". I started looking for another company but just couldn't bear the thought of leaving my advisor who was/is wonderful! At that point I never found a company I wanted, so I kept at it figuring I was just supposed to make it work. About a month and a half later I was looking at the DSA website to find a candle company to buy candles from. (Bad experiences with the one I was buying from). When I came across Northern Lights at Home, I was floored with what they offered and they were just an hour from me! Once I got the catalog I couldn't put it down and I couldn't stop thinking about it, but I also felt as you do, very sad that I was even thinking of leaving Longaberger! I did both companies for a year after that. In that time I could only book 1 Longaberger party and it was small, no bookings. 3 months later (I take a while to get the hint), I decided staying was pointless and just costing me money. I couldn't afford the products myself and I was actually MAKING MONEY with the candles, something I've never done. Within one month of ending LB I was #1 in the company for the month and since then I've become the nymber 1 seller and recruiter. Coincidence? I don't believe so.
Moral of the story: Sometimes even though it's painful, you need to make the change, whether you do it like I did slowly or jump in all at once. I think you'll be happy you did.

I just want to say "welcome" from one Arbonne biz builder to another!
I just know you will Love Arbonne as much as you love AHA!

I think that happens to a lot of us. My “Passion” went thought an identity crisis this year, lol. I think when you are sure about the change then you can tell you AHA team members that you will be there for them if they need it but that you need to move on.

Leah,
I know how it is to leave your company after so long, and such loyalty. I
was literally ILL when I made the decision to leave Nu Skin after twelve
years. It was just time for me. I know it's a business, but when you have
invested so much of yourself into it, and you are not reaping the benefits
you anticipated, then it's easy to lose the "love".
When I left Nu Skin, I actually wrote a letter of resignation, and sent a
separate letter to my team explaining that I was retiring from the
company, and had found someone that would help them to continue
successfully in Nu Skin.
I tried a couple of other companies in different prodct categories since
then, and did well in each, but for one reason or another, they just did
not float my boat as a long-term opportunity.
Now I am not going to go nuts yet wih my newest venture until I read the
Policies and Procedures Manual (not doing that came back to bite me with
my last venture), but what I see so far has me toally jazzed!
Focus on your new business, and do notget caught up in the sorrow of
leaving your old one.
Hope this has been helpful,
Nondy

Its normal for your passions to change. I'm sure what you LOVE
now is nowhere near what you were "passionate" about when you were 7
yrs old.
ANd yes I can relate. I feel a very strong passion and desire to
go full force at my ministry, yet I am a little scared to do so.

Since you are relying on your income for your family, it seems to me you may have to work both companies for a while, if this is true, you don't want to break the spirit or the momentum of your AHA team. Don't be deceptive, but don't offer the information.
