This is a tip I was given, and it truly is a good one so I thought I would share.
When mailing out scent samples (two or more), I wrap them in aluminum foil so the liklihood of the scents mixing is greatly reduced.I arrange the sample"wraps" so they are still thinand won't disrupt the overall thickness of the envelope I am mailing out.
I do the same when I am sending out an assortment of votives as well. I wrap them in foil to reduce the cross-scent between the votives.
Does anyone know of a better way? I realize foil isn't the prettiest thing out there, but I really don't want the scents to start crossing.

Hi Sandy-
I have been doing this same thing since I started. It really does stop cross-scenting. I always include a note with them explaining why they're wrapped in foil. I've only had positive responses from this method.

Sandy, try a search for resteraunt paper products. My sister in law used to work at a factory that makes the aluminum/paper products (like the wrap around burgers in some rest) where the aluminum foil is on one side and white paper is on the other side. I think they even stamp/personalize it for the resteraunt. I don't know where the general public can order it - and it might have to be purchased in bulk, but it is worth a try. I know they make it - the trick is to find it - lol
I never thought of aluminum foil - good idea!

That is a great idea! I am wondering though, will that stop the scents from coming through into the package itself? I have several people tell me that they could smell the candles in their mailbox through the package, that was a GREAT testiominial. I want to continue that!! smileys/smiley2.gif
When i package up a cd package i LAYER my baggies so one is between the cd and the letter, and one bewtween the folded letter, etc. I dont just put them all in a heap inside. This may help too!!
But i will definately try your idea!! Thanks for the suggestions!! smileys/smiley32.gif

You won't be able to smell the scents through the package (maybe very lightly) but I would like to mention .... when I received my very first scent samples I could smell them from the mailbox!! ... BUT when I opened the envelope to smell them, they all smelled the same. They smelled good, but the same. It wasn't until a few hours later (after they had sat seperately for a while) that I could distinguish the scents from eachother. That is why I decided to go with the aluminum foil whensending more than one sample.Edited by: MiaBellaFreedom

What reminded me of the tip was a trip down memory lane. I remember receiving some scent samples in the mail along with my order of 6 SO&CP votives. The samples came in a second mailing all to themselves. There was Clean Cotton, Tequila Sunrise, and one other one I can't recall off the top of my head. The clean cotton didn't seem to cross scent, however the other two did, and when I smelled each of them, they smelled the same.
Oh Debra, I know what you are talking about. That may be something to look into! At least try to find!
Jennifer - I know EXACTLY what you mean. Smelling the scents through the box is an awesome testimony, and I won't wrap "single scent" packages because I want them to smell those through the package too. What I plan to do is letting anyone know (those that I send multiple scented votives to) is that they will most likely not smell anything through the box because I want to make sure the votive scents stay as consistant as possible and not mix and mesh. On second thought - if they get a split order of scents, you can always wrap all but one scent so there is still a scent that comes through the package!

Hi Ladies,
I have always wrapped mine in plastic wrap. Never thought to use aluminum foil. That is a good idea!
Debra, that aluminum paper is a wonderful idea too. I think I am going to have to look around for some of that and see what I can find!
Many Blessings,
Natalie
