I've designed a few websites, but I'm not very experienced in doing graphics. I'm trying to make a business card to upload to VistaPrints. Since I have Microsoft Publisher, I made one using their template, followed VistaPrints directions for saving as a .ps file. When Itry to upload, Iget the message that my file dimensions are too large to upload.
What graphics programs do you all use, and what dimensions are acceptable for VistaPrints?
Thanks

I usually use quark xpress to do layout and photoshop for image editing. However, I use publisher some too and it will work just fine for business cards.
Here are a couple of links for you to look at. The first link is where you will find the size requirements for business cards submitted to Vista Print. It is for horizontal layouts-there is also a page for vertical. The second link has some tips on reducing the size of your artwork.
I have uploaded business cards with them in the past. If you have more problems you can pm me if you want.
Hope this helps.

edited to add-- If you are using a large pic in your card, if possible you will want to reduce the size of the pic in an image editing programbefore placing it in the card layout. That will help reduce the file size. In other words, if you place a pic that is 2mb in your layout and then use publisher to pull the pic in to the right size, the pic is still 2mb. That means the size of your card file will be 2mb+. Does that make since?Edited by: imnotamachine

Thanks. Can you explain what "bleed size" means?

Check your page size in Publisher. You're probably working on a default page which is larger than a business card.

The image for a VistaPrint biz card needs to be at least 300dpi, and 1062 pixels by 615 pixels.
