View Full Version : Idea for Silk Roses/flowers

I was at a craft fair this past weekend, and I saw a Yankee Candle table and was "drawn" to her silk flowers. I thought nothing of it till I got closer to them.

She dipped the silk flowers into the melted soy wax and let them dry. I thought I was a great idea, along with the usual votive roses/flowers.

What do you think?

Abbysmom, does Yankee have soy candles? Or did I misunderstand your post? LOL

Thanks

I don't think so. I didn't ask her, I was interested in the flowers! Unless she got the soy wax from another source.....hmmm.

I have a Yankee Candle store about 2 blocks from where I work. I can ask them if they do sell soy wax candles.

I just called the Yankee Candle store at our nearest mall. The DON'T sell soy candles. Pretty obvious the Rep at the fair used the soy wax from another source.

Just a FYI ... Yankee Candles increased their 14 1/2 oz jar prices to $18.99!

Guess their feelin' the cost of petroleum prices, huh smileys/smiley1.gif

Way to go Yankee for raising your prices! I hate when people cringe when I tell them how much mine are.

Thanks Abbysmom for the research. I didn't think they sold soy. That's even better.

Have a great weekend!

Uh....okay...EGG ON MY FACE!

See, this is WHY I call ANY store 3 times during the Christmas Season. It's common that the Christmas Help doesn't know what they have most of the time.

I called Yankee again this morning, talked to the manager. THEY DO sell soy candles, but they are in a paraffin blend. Hmm..okay. It's just certain scents are being discontinued. So as for MY neck of the woods( errrr.Asphalt)....I'm good, competition wise.

So much for that eh?
