I attach a DOVE promises to my cards with a little saying
I can promise you 2 things(something like this)-
* When you host a tasting you will earn a lots of FREE Chocolate!
* When you start DCAH business you have the opportunity to earn extra income, have flexibility and be recognized for your successes!

Contact me at....

And now you can order DOVE promises with a personalized message inside so some chocolatiers have had their name & number inside. smileys/smiley1.gif

You could use the "promise" idea and insert your info!Edited by: gotchocolate

I usually don't give out business cards at events like that since I am afraid they will get lost or overlooked - I give out full catalogs ....I usually attach a flyer with a little blurb about any specials or sign up info.... it does cost alot more than business cards but I find that it always comes back to me and I think in general people keep catalogs http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

I think it all depends on the product you are selling. I am not familiar with your company so chances are they may not be also - is there something small that would represent you? I give a little felt sample since I sell felt! :)

PS: I disagree about giving away catalogs, most people don't call you later, so you're out that $. The trick is getting their info on a drawing slip so you can follow up later. With business cards, at least you aren't out too much $ if they never call you, but there is a chance they will keep it if they collect them from people! Honestly most giveaways at these things don't result in sales, it's all in the follow up that WE do. I mean when was the last time you looked at a pen or magnet and called someone, or even a catalog you got somewhere. Keep it simple!

Find a local craft store / party shop / dollar store and look for something blingy or maybe girly to attach to your card.

you don't have time for this one, but another thought is to check out the catalog: oriental trading company. They have party favor type things.

I take the little bagettes for Jewelry that you can find at craft stores in the jewelry section (250 for like $3). I fill them with some raffitti, a couple pieces of candy or a sample, my biz card, and a snippet of info about the company or specials.

People are more likely to hang on to the little packet a little longer, at least to get the goodies inside. It doesn't cost much at all to put together, pennies, and you can stick them to bulletin boards, and cheaper then catalogs.

Candy always seems to be an affordable and easy handout...I have a two-sided biz card. One side has my reg. biz card info and the other side says "Let me help you share your stories...""Now and Later" (I don't print the wordsit on there.I attached a treat size Now and Later candy w/ double-sided tape.) I buy them in bulk @ Sam's Club. I print Black & White biz cards, two-sided or get free onesfrom Vista Print.

FunFelt: Jimer is a new jewelry company :) and I have to agree with youabout the catalogs not being the wisest thing to give away. Some companies charge an arm and a leg for their catalogs, so not always the most economical way to advertise at a large event like what I will be attending.Edited by: MASTT73

REALLY?? I did this event at Christmas time and gave out like 30 some catalogs - I didn't just hand them to anyone but if they asked or showed interest I gave them one and I had 10 people call me back - and three of them got the catalog from someone at the event!!! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif My thought is because we are new if I just give them a card that says GemStyle are they even going to remember what GemStyle is but with a catalog in hand they can see the line etc. I did another event just the other night - it was for Junior League but I donated the doorprize so had catalogs with me and handed out about 10 or 12 catalogs and I've already had one call to book! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Hi Angela,

I know you are going to do great on Sunday. I attach a little butterfly pin to my business card. We get these for next to nothing from Home Office.

I do like the candy idea and have seen the 2 sided card. I think MK has the 2 sided card.

Let us know how it turns out - I am praying for great success for you.

That's a cute idea! I like things like that that stand out, that's why I alwaysdo full catalogs .... if I go to something and they just hand me a business card with nothing else or no catalog I totally just toss it....

It depends on the event that I am doing...

I have used little fruit shaped refrigerator magnets, jar grippers/openers with my biz on them, corn cob holders, mini erasers etc. Just depends.

I also do a drawing contest at events I do so I can collect their contact info and follow up with them in the future.

My biz cards for events have a imprinted coupon on the backside that they can redeem with me.

Thank you! I am so excited!

I think the butterfly pinis an awesome idea and exactly what I was looking for!

Now do you mean you get the butterfly pin from Home Office or is it a SC item?

Thank you for the thought!

Ang

Since Jimer is jewelry, here's an idea that I got from another jewelry girl~ She attached a plastic ring to her business card with a note that read "give me a ring" I thought it was cute.

I get the pins from SC because it is our logo. If you have a Hobby Lobby Store in your area - you may be able to find something there until you could order something unique to put on your cards.
Please let me know how the event turns out - I am praying for you.

I will give monthly brochures to everyone that I meet. They cost $5.00 for 50 of them and that is only .10 each. I am going to get business cards to pass out to professionals that I want to work with. My idea is that if people see my brochures, they may order my merchandise. I will also try and get their name and number and follow up with them. My motto since seminar is that if they don't tell me NO, I will try again in a month or two... So I want their number.
