I've been researching mineral makeup for myself and my girls. I am interested in your opinions about using a mineral makeup vs. tinted moisturizer. I have a 15 yr old stepdtr who I currently buy makeup for. She currently uses a tinted moisturizer but I wondered if a mineral makeup would be better for her skin. She likes the simplicity of the combination product and I like that it evens outs her complexion.

I look forward to hearing your suggestions!

Thanks, Julie

Hi Julie!

Are you sick of me, yet!?! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif

I recently researched mineral makeup for my 13yo daughter who battles acne. She wasn't using a tinted moisturizer, but she was using oil-free liquid foundation for acne-prone skinand she was still having problems with her skin. After doing research on mineral makeup and looking at the different brands, we purchased some Mineral Girlz makeup and she's been using that since the first of the year without it bothering her skin. In fact, her skin seems to be getting better (I just need to get her on Unblemish and then I think she'll be back to having flawless skin!).

What I like about mineral makeup for her, too, is that it's lighter and more natural looking than her liquid makeup and it's got zinc oxide which is a natural SPF. She was pretty bad about putting any type of SPF product on her face, so now she doesn't have to worry about it since she puts her mineral makeup foundation on every day!

My daughter (17) doesn't like the look mineral make up gives her skin and loves to "skip" a step. She loves tinted moisturizer with SPF because she can moisturize, add a "little" color and protect her skin from the sunin one step. She just started with Gale Haymon tinted moisturizer SPF 15 and so far she is really liking it. She is blessed with gorgeous skin (looks like snow white!), never has had a blemish and doesn't need full coverage.

I have a few teens and a few male clients using the tinted moisturizer from @rbonne. I personally use the pump liquid foundation and love it! It gives the illlusion of the airbrush effect.

My mom, the ultimate critic on any business I try, has switched to using the cleanser and moisturizer. She still buys her foundation from Walmart, but swears since she has been using the cleanser and moisturizer, she uses way less makeup, and it tends to stay longer throughout the day.

I have not personally used the mineral foundation, but hear it is awesome!
