Is it just me? The Internet is incredibly slow for the last few days. I can't seem to get anywhere. Is there something going on I don't know about? I know there were some cables cut recently underwater. But I read today that those had been fixed.
I'm so frustrated! Just needed to vent! smileys/smiley7.gif

That has been happening to me, I figured it was my provider being well, being Time Warner.
Guess not :)

Mine has been acting up for ages. I ended up cleaning a lot of crud out of my computer and freeing up some extra (apparently much needed) space and it is better. Not 100%, but better.

I have been having a lot, and I mean a lot, of problems with Yahoo. Checking e-mail has been a pain in the arse the last few days. This site was also really slow for me earlier today. Other than that, though, I've been okay. But the e-mail thing has been really irritating.

My internet service provider is Time Warner too. I'm going to call them and see if I can get some answers. When I first started with them, their service was really fast. But for the last month, it's been getting slower. Then in the last week, it's just like mud.

I had issues with yahoo acting up yesterday. I had to log out and in several times before finally it started acting right. I have Comcast and recently things have been a lot better but in the past it wasn't nothing to have to watch a blank screen for an hour or several hours for at least one day a week.

I would shoot myself it was several hours. I can't even imagine. I just don't understand how it went from being so fast a couple of years ago to being so slow now.
I talked to some guy at TW tonight. And of course, they have no idea what's going on. They always ask have I cleaned my cache, history, cookies, etc. Do I run virus protection, spyware, all that. When I answer yes to all of that, they're done. Sorry. Don't know what's going on. smileys/smiley23.gif

Lisa, try some speed tests and then report the results to Time Warner. That might get them to troubleshoot.

Clean your cache...run your virus and spyware for anything threatening.
Also, a hard drive getting ready to die will move slower and slower as each day goes by. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley34.gifI know this from mine recently going out!! For weeks before it happened, I was wondering why my computer was so slow!!!
ETA: I have Timewarner also and could it be the modem is on its last legs? How long have you had it? I seem to have to go in and get a new one every 6-9 months or so cause of the heavy use on my computer with my jobs.

I've been a bit slow myself lately, and I clean my stuff almost every day. I don't have Time Warner either. I don't know what the deal is, but it's getting on my nerves.
And yes I am spoiled, I used to have dial up too, and I would NEVER go back, you just can't. It's like going from having a remote for your tv, and then getting a new tv with no remote. You just can't go backwards in time! LOL
