Hi All!
I just need to vent for a moment.
I was hired by Cloud10 was able to get a fabulous shift allowing me to work, and still spend the better part of the day with my daughter. So I started the hunt for daycare. Because its phone work she can not be here.
After daycare costs I will only be making 45.00 a week. So I declined the job because I need to bring in more than that.
I feel like I have let Cloud10 down, and Sandi for the awesome referral. Sorry Sandi.
Oh well moving on to find something else..

I use mother's day outs at nearby chruches cause it's cheaper than regular daycare. I had to get out the yellow pages and call around to find them. This allows me quiet time to work. I don't know if this would work for your situation. Sorry you had to turn down a good job, but you will find another one.

I am so sorry sweetie, I tried to get on with Cloud 10 and they said they didn't hire in my state. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif
I don't knowhow old your daughter is but was it possible for you to pick a shift when she does the majority of her sleeping??? If so then you wouldn't have to spend any money on child care.
Anyway try West, they let you pick your own shifts, they're great.
Good luck to you

Sometimes in home family childcare providers are able to give you a break. You could always call around and ask if anyone needs any help. Maybe if you could work for them one day out the week, they could cut you a break on the fee they normally charge. Or maybe you could have your daughter their for half a day while you work from home and then you work in the daycare for the other half of the day. You have to be flexible, creative, and ask for help.

Another suggestion is having a responsible teenager come over after school. Maybe someone from your neighborhood?

That's the reason why I haven't taken any phone work (that and I don't have any real experience) because the point of a work at home job for me is to keep my son out of daycare. When he starts K in 2009 I'll go to something like that so I can still be home. I guess that's why I haven't found any stable work at home yet, huh? haha

Thank you All
I turned down the position with Cloud 10
I received a call tonight to sit with an elderly lady at the assisted living home it pays more than Cloud 10..and its hours my husband will be home so I will still have my days with my daughter. Ill be working 4-10 Sat and Sunday night and then 1 weekday evening 3-10 My stepson is going to sit with Hannah on the week day evening until hubby gets home. So it worked out and its more money and something more flexible.
I love elderly people they have great stories and you can learn alot from them. This woman is 95 and just needs assistance. Getting up and down and you push her in the wheelchair for dinner which she buys your meal also. She was a professor for many years I bet she has fabulous stories. I am very excited
Again thank you everyone for your kind words and suggestions. I had found a home daycare to put her in and they actually called and lowered there price. But the other issue I had was paying all the daycare until you get the training pay from Cloud10.
Good Luck to you all
Amy
PS I sell on Ebay also and took several month break and once I get a few more boxes unpacked and the rest of my office set up I will get back to that.
