instead of always using stationery for their letters, going with greeting cards?

I just thought of this idea since I joined Send Out Cards.

Ican still write quite a bit for the letter as the cards are large enough and have plenty of space. It's still nice and colorful, maybe even moreso with the card instead of paper. I can choose from different fonts and colors. I can add a photo to the card if the purchaser emails it to me (I was thinking they could email me a photo of the child smiling with their missing tooth for the Tooth Fairy letter, etc).

The only thing that I wouln't be able to do is add extras such as a coloring sheet or stickers as the card is sent directly from the factory. I can add brownies or cookies (for an additional charge of course), or I can add gift cards, teas, etc for adults.

Hmmmm - this has got me thinking a bit.

What do you ladies think? Or am I completely off base here??

Vicki

I had thought about it before, but decided against it.

I really enjoy the "package deal" part of the letters. You know, choosing and adding my own goodies to each package. Plus, I like having the ability to add options such as the Santa Key (which I hand created myself this year.)

Now, that's not to say that the cards won't work for the same purpose. I do think they cards could work. It would all be dependent upon how you market your product.

Thanks for the feedback ladies.

I guess the greeting cards could work more for adults than children. Well it gives me something to think about.

Thanks again,
Vicki

just curious what is santa key? because I include a foam activity santa key in my packages. I get them for 7cents each buying bulk. Kids love them and being able to make them is half the fun.smileys/smiley1.gif

You can see the picture of the Santa Key I made last year on my site. It was something I hand crafted. The idea is that it is a special key Santa can use to get inside. It's great for apartments. Or, if you have a fireplace, it helps Santa keep his suit clean. :) Hang it on the tree throughout the season. On Christmas Eve, hang the key on the outside door. Then, Santa can get in. :)

I never grew up with the keys, but it may be cheaper for you to buy them. I just looked at the site I use and for 24cents if you buy bulk you get the key ornament. Not sure if you were interested though just an idea.smileys/smiley1.gif
