Would you please also state your rank, and how long you have been pursuing your Arbonne business? I think this would be a great visual for people like me to set our goals by.

Right now I only do classes, but I'm thinking seriously aboutdoing one-on-ones instead, because I put a lot of palnning into my classes, and find them to be exhausting. I am currently a DM, and have been active since August.

I'm a new consultant and wondering how you do the classes. My upline is doing the pups one-on-one appointments. I guess I just need clarification on what is what.

After reading another post, it appears the classes are parties. Is this true? If so, what is the correct way to run a class/party? My upline doesn't do home parties, only an annual pre-holiday spa party at a hotel. I could use the extra volume from parties and just want to know how you typically work one.

I'd bet that everyone does there classes a little differently. This is how I do mine:
1. Welcome everyone with a sea salt scrub massage on their left hand.
2. Play the Left/Right game (Which I got from this site! Go WAHMS!!)
3. Tell about the 12 points of Arbonne.
4. Explain the RE9 line while passing it around for everyone to try one their right hand.
5. Answer specific product (I always bring a lot of products for people to try)and business questions, and give prizes to the 2 people who ask the most questions.
6. Present my hostess with a gift.
7. Take orders and sign people up.
8. Have refreshments, and hopefully tak up the biz to a few people.

Lisa,
How does your upline conduct these spa parties? I would love the specifics.
Sarah
P.S. Yes, classes and parties and the same thing. Actually, I usually call them parties, but conduct mine more like a class. I forgot to mention that I give a quiz for prizes at the end too.

Time: Joined July 28th/started working the biz mid-late Sept
I like classes/parties but don't want to rule out one on ones. They obviously work, I hear there are those who have made RVP/NVP with this approach alone. I want to be able to do whatever best fits the needs of my prospect.

Rank- DM
Time- WB since May 04, BB since May 05
I've done both, and when I quit my FT J-O-B, I'll do more 1:1's. I
commute 2 1/2 hours a day to work, so there's little time (or energy)
for 1:1's at night. I think it will be much easier for me when I
have more flexibility and time.
Great thread! Thanks!

arbonnebabies/Sarah - What are the 12 points of Arbonne?
I'm in Connecticut andthe network I'm indoes what are called "Spa Parties".
During the party, the guests get to soak their feet in warm water with aromatic bath gel while watching a movie about hormonal health. The feet tubs have marbles or stones at the bottom. Here, they relax and learn about all the estrogens in our environment that are in so many of the products they likely use. The movie is produced by the 7th Woman Foundation and is very educational.
Another thing we do at spa parties is give facials with the RE9 system or another skin line if the guest requests a particular one like Bio-Matte. During the facial, we teach the guest how to use the products and give information on each.
We also take the guest to the sink so they can sample a salt scrub on their hands.
Make-up isn't always done at spa parties because some consultants choose not to promote it. I'm one of those consultants because I don't wear make-up other than a little mascara. If the makeup is available, we decide what the guest is (neutral, warm, cool), find the right foundation colorand then let them pick colors to try.
Most people don't like to attend class, but most enjoy a spa so maybe that's why werefer toour Arbonne parties as "spa".
By the way, I work full-time and try to do one-on-one appointments as I can. However, I have a "spa" party I'm hosting with my new recruit this weekend.

Arbonne offers over 360 pure-safe-beneficial products. Arbonne is a great place to one-stop shop!
All of Arbonne products are:
#1) Hypoallergenic- To be sure they are completely safe, Arbonne tests all its products on human panels for an extended period of time. Even people with extremely sensitive skin will have great results with Arbonne products. (The FDA rates products with an 'irritability rating' of 1-10, 10 being the higher number of reactions. If the rating is less than '4,' manufacturers may label the product hypoallergenic. All Arbonne products rate '0.')
#2) Dermatologist tested - All of Arbonne's products are dermatologist tested, which means they are actually tested, under the supervision of board certified dermatologists on a panel of human subjects (a very costly and time consuming process). Dermatologist recommended, which is commonly found on other product labels, can simply mean that samples of that product were given to a dermatologists office by the manufacturer, and were then handed out to customers for advertising purposes. (Dermatologists are paid for this practice. "Dermatologist Tested" can cost up to $100,000 per product.)
#3) PH correct- There is an acid mantle on your skin that acts like a bug zapper to protect you from the environment. Non-PH correct products actually tear down that mantle, but Arbonne products strengthen it.
#4) No mineral oil - Arbonne's products are formulated without Mineral oil (which is derived from crude oil). This is huge, because mineral oil acts like a plastic film on your skin, not letting beneficial ingredients in, or allowing toxins to escape. When you use products with a wonderful ingredient, but that product also contains mineral oil, (which has 90 different names by the way) your skin is not going to benefit from the good ingredient. You are, in a very real sense, suffocating your largest organ. It's a good thing that our skin doesn't absorb large amounts of mineral oil however, because the trace amounts that are eventually absorbed have been proven to cause hormone imbalance. So, that lotion you've been using for years may to blame for any of these symptoms [show hormone imbalance sheet].
Dr. Obagi, a renowned dermatologist, doesn't believe in the use of mineral oil. He says that the #1 cause of aging is the sun and the #2 cause of aging is skin care because of inferior ingredients, especially mineral oil. Dr. Obagi does the grand rounds at Johns Hopkins, where he educates the surgeons and residents on skin care. He teaches them not to use products that contain mineral oil.
So why on earth would this ingredient be in 98% of American skin care? I'll give you one guess. It's C.H.E.A.P.! (About $1.00/gallon vs. $100.00 for some of the oils Arbonne uses instead.)
OK,
#5) All of Arbonne's products are precision formulated at a Swiss lab (A.I.R.D.) under the direction of Pierre Bottiglieri. Pierre sits on the board of the International Federation Society of Cosmetic Chemists, giving Arbonne early access to new technology (like nanosphere technology for example).
#6) All of Arbonne's products are proprietary - many with patents pending in both the US and Switzerland. If it doesn't say Arbonne Int., it's not Arbonne Intl. No one else has our formulations.
#7) Arbonne is the only company recommended by the former president of the American Modeling Assoc. Also, the new Mrs. USA uses Arbonne, and has become an Arbonne consultant.
#8) All of Arbonne's products are botanically based. This is very important. We can learn, by looking at all of the new drug "patches" that are on the market, that ingredients can be very easily absorbed through our skin. So, it makes sense that we should be very careful about what we put onto our skin, and whether it is safe to be absorbed.
#9) In its 25 year history Arbonne has never tested on animals.
#10) No dyes/chem frag. If you are having an allergic reaction to a product, it may actually be the fragrance that you are having the trouble with. Many companies have to use fragrances to cover up the animal by-product smell, but not Arbonne, because...
#11) Arbonne does not use any animal, or human, products or by-products.
And lastly,
#12) For all these reasons, Arbonne has maintained an unheard of 85% retention rate of both its customers and its consultants!

Mineral Oil/Petroleum
A mixture of refined liquid hydrocarbons derived from petroleum, mineral oil is the stabilizing ingredient of many skin formulas. Mineral oil forms a film on the skin, blocking the pores and interfering with the normal skin respiration. It may, therefore, not only dry the skin, but also be a contributing cause of blemishes.
Refined Black Crude Oil>*Gasoline*Diesel*Vaseline*Mineral Oil
Why Is This An Issue?
<DIR>
<DIR>
Most skin care products contain mineral oil as the base-stabilizing ingredient
Molecule are too big to penetrate skin
Feels slick, fooling us to think our skin is moisturized or hydrated
Impedes our skin’s own elimination process and causes dehydration
Dehydration pulls out moisturizing antioxidants, which results in reduced production of Collagen and Elastin
Enlarged pores
Mineral Oil = $1.00/gallon Herbal Botanical Oils = $30-$200/gallon
Mineral oil can offer positive results when used for specific medical conditions where setting up a temporary protective barrier to aid skin repair is necessary. Examples of conditions where a protective barrier is necessary include: laser surgery, burns, and skin grafting.

I am a DM. I currently do more classes than one-one's,but I want to make it the other way around. While I enjoy classes, I think the one-ones might be better to help me buildmy business. Making DM was pretty easy, but I know I will have a tough time going area without some solid bb's.
Does anyone have any suggestions for setting 1-1's up? I don't know why I struggle with it, but I do!
Thanks

Hi everyone, I love this forum, very helpful! I am a DM since July 1, 2005. I signed up in Feb. 2005 as w/b and decided to start the biz in May, made DM in 2 months. I started out doing parties/classes and handing out samples but have since gone to the Results approach and I like it better. I agree with what Meg said about making it to DM alone but needing to find bb's to move up. I just signed my 2nd bb this month and I think it will be easier with the Results approach because it seems to be more duplicatable(for me). THis is all my upline is doing now. Anyway, I wanted to say good luck to everyone and have a great holiday season! :)

My RVP invented these and they are my favorite "style" of one-on-ones because you can do them with the purpose of getting someone's "opinion" instead of just feeling like a goof, going up and talking to them about Arbonne out of nowhere. Lat month, I did 10,000 in volume pretty much solely doing these. The description is found on this link... http://www.infiniteabundance.us/pages/2/index.htmscroll down to where you see "POA" above the grape jar. smileys/smiley2.gif

I just made DM this month and found my first BB this month. I signed up in February, but really started working the business once we moved to our new home in August. I do parties and the results approach. Since I don't know many people yet, I do whatever I can to tell someone about arbonne!!smileys/smiley2.gif
Kristi -
It looks like a great approach and I have even thought about doing something similar, but don't people know that when you ask for an "opinion", you are hoping to make a sale? Because w/o sales, we have no business. I am just a bit leary for myself to ask someone for an opinion, but then ask if they want to be a client, host a party, or do the business themselves. It sounds like you are having great success this way ($10,000! smileys/smiley32.gif) I just get the picture of the vacuum salesman knocking on my door telling me he just wants to show me how the vacuum works, no pressure. smileys/smiley2.gifThis is the beauty of Arbonne though. So many different ways to do the business! I do like the idea of sampling the 5 different products to introduce them to more than just the RE9.
I am still somewhat new to my area and will be concentrating on calling referrals from clients/wholesalers for December instead of parties. I do not know any of these people so I am trying to figure out what would work for me to get them to say yes to a one on one or results approach. Maybe I will keep it light and simple and say something like "Of course I would love for you to purchase these awesome products, but your opinion would help me tremendously in growing my business..."

Barbara, If you read the end, we go into the schpeal about the "3 ways to do Arbonne" (client, wholesale buyer, BB) and ask them "if they could pick one right now that appeals to them, which one would it be"...yes, they pretty much know that we are making a sale, but how is that any different than inviting them to a party or something, you know? So far, it's been working really well because people get to try the products for themselves, and they get that one on one time to ask questions, they can't just "slip out" or whatever like they could at a party smileys/smiley36.gifIt's all about finding which approach you are comfortable with, and getting really good at it, IMO.

I definetly agree about finding the right approach you are comfortable with. Like I said, I have considered this approach but was just a bit nervous to try it. I guess I'll never know until I do!
