I am a bit short of a sales goal for this month for Big Yellow Box and of course I have Christmas shopping I still need to do, so I thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone. I am looking to do a product swap (You order $x.xx from me and I order $x.xx from you and we don't exchange any money - just place the orders). The companies I am most interested in are:

Tastefully Simple

Homemade Gourmet

Arbonne

Beauticontrol

Usborne Books

Good Books & Company

Bath & Body Works

Creative Memories (don't need much, but could do a $15-$25 swap)

Traveling Vineyard (I live in Arizona - I think it is fine for you to ship here - I'm not sure on your rules and regulations on that)

Home Decor companies (At Home America, SLAH, Home & Garden etc)

Cookie Lee

You can e-mail me at Allison024@aol.com (Allison024@aol.com) or pm me here. Thanks!

Hi Allison,

Are you interested only in those specific companies? Or companies that also sell similar products?

I have White Lily (candles / body products), Gourmet To Go (gourmet food mixes) and Baby Crazy (kids toys).

Let me know if you are interested in something!

I still REALLY need an Arbonne rep to swap with. I want to get my mom some of that progesterone cream for Christmas.

I've had fun swapping with everyone too. Gosh I've gotten so much Christmas shopping done today (okay - shopping for myself too - hee hee). I am getting lots of goodies from Rebecca and some SLAH home decor (things I have been wanting for a long time!) from Cheryl and I am working with Heidi to get some CBB bath/spa things. I'm so excited!! Oh yeah - I'm working with Vicki on getting some Beauticontrol things too - woohoo!

Phew - thanks everyone I think I am "swapped out" now. I have nearly completed my Christmas shopping - WAHOO!! I can't wait to get all these goodies in the mail.

I may post again sometimes next month if I have some $$ for more swapping.

Thanks so much Bev, but I was able to get some great Christian CD's from Heidi at Country Bunny which will cover my Christmas needs for Preschool and Sunday School teachers :) I will certainly think of you in the future for more swapping!

Hi Ladies! I was just wondering if anyone would explain to me how the swapping is done? I am confused as heck about swaps - but everyone seems to 'get' it but me! :)

What confuses me, is that it seems to make more sense to swap based on actual commision paid, then it does on $$ amount of product - so that everyone is 'spending' the same amount for their swapped gifts. But, I sounds like you all did it based on product amounts? Can anyone clarify for me, how this process works?

Thanks!

As far as I know, swapping is done based on retail prices - if I wanted to buy something from another company, I would be paying the retail price. If someone wants to buy something from me, they would pay retail.

When we swap, rather than actually exchanging money - someone purchases, say $25 worth of products from me, and I purchase $25 worth of products from her.

I understand what you are saying regarding equal exchange of $$ spent based on commission percentage - but I look at it this way- I am still getting $25 worth of products for less than $25, so it is still a deal.

I think I am confusing myself now smileys/smiley36.gif

I'm with Rebecca - sure some people get a "better deal" if their commission is higher, but at the same time you end up not paying "retail" price for the other companies goodies no matter what, so its not like you are losing out. I know that some people I swapped with get a better commission than I do, but I think some get a lower one too. At the end of the day, we are all happy that we got some shopping done (at a discount!!), increased our personal sales volume and helped out other WAHM's and thats what it's all about!!

That clears it up! Thank you both! Now I will know how it is done. :)
