I signed up for Alibaba a while back. I had a really hard time with it as well. I asked a couple of companies for quotes on some items, but since they were mostly in Japan or China, I wasn't sure about import laws and things like that...also, all of the quotes I recieved left out shipping, so by the time I added shipping, I wouldn't have made any money.
I always wondered about the legitimacy of the companies too, I mean there wasn't really anyway to tell if they were legit or not

If you'd like to find something to sell in eBay, probabaly Alibaba is not something suitable for you. Perhaps you could try this supplier: www.giftamax.com (http://www.giftamax.com). You should be able to find a lot of sellable items. You may take a quick research in eBay and see what profit margins you can make. Good luck
