I may have mentioned this at one time, but I usually burn my COTM in my office area at work and it usually generates interest from passersby. Well, one of my co-workers came to my area today and asked if he could borrow my candle and take it onto the next floor and burn it because they were experiencing a "stinky" odor smileys/smiley36.gif. (Seems I've developed a reputation as the "candle lady" in my officesmileys/smiley1.gif)

Well, my SOCP candle was low and wasn't giving off as strong of a scent as I'd liked, so I pulled out one of about four boxes of votives I had on hand and offered some to him. He took two and said he would pay me for them.I sold them at $2 a piece. Yeah, I know it's below the suggested price, but I was just so flabbergasted that he was willing to buy them. I asked him to let me know how they fare out in terms of scent throw, because I usually use my votives for samples. However, I did sell half a box to another co-worker a while back and she was satisifed with them (they were the Slate and Stone scent).

It's a costly idea that I need to really map out, but I'm considering investing in a case of jars every month--or other month--and bring them into the office and offer them for $18/jar (and hand out brochures)and take orders for anyone who asks for a scent I don't happen to have on hand.

Or....

Really see how to work the cost of the sampler kit into my budget. That probably would be better, but getting a case is a little cheaper.

Now I'm sitting here at work brainstorming candle biz ideas when I should be working. smileys/smiley36.gif

Hi Connie,

I love it! That is what makes this business so wonderful! I know what you mean about being the candle lady. Everyone was talking about my candles yesterday. It is so nice to know that our candles can touch people in such a special way!

You go ahead and brainstrom girlie! This is definately a wonderful business to WORK!smileys/smiley2.gif

LOL great news Connie, my dh is now the candle guy at his work! :) Its nice he sells em and I get the $$$ lol. :)
The case might not be a bad idea if you know they are gonna be buying, but like you said I would hate for you to keep ordering a case everytime someone wanted something not in stock, i would suggest just sample thingy, and take orders and order once a week. ;)
GOod Luck

You know, that's how I work it at my office. I get about 3-4 people
that say they want to put in an order the next time I send one
in, so when payday comes around I send out an e-mail.... allright! I'm
getting an order together, who wants a candle??........ and by
the end of the day I generally have 6+ orders with payment in hand.
I've put in three case orders using that method and it works perfectly
;) (this is just from when I joined in the beginning of October... three case orders, not too bad)

I made enough to put in a case order of all my own choices, some are
favorite scents I know will sell quickly, some are the more popular
scents I've not ordered yet, but they are VERY nice and I know they
will sell quickly as well. <!--

You know, that's a GREAT idea! I'm ashamed I didn't think of it before.smileys/smiley9.gif

I could bring inbrochures (got plenty of those I have yet to get around to labeling) and let everyone know that I'll place an orderon payday and then send a reminder email when payday arrives. If I don't get an order, I simply don't send one in.

And I can refer them to my website as well!

It's worth a try! Thanks!!

CONNIE!!!smileys/smiley17.gif

Wow!!smileys/smiley32.gif

Another great woman (LIKE YOU!)in Boston joined our team in Mia Bella about 5 months ago. She fell in love with our products basically over the phone.

The first month she bought SIX cases of jars! She sold FIVE cases within the first week FROM HER OFFICE!smileys/smiley2.gif

She now has THREE distributors!! One of the distributors is a vendor's wife who knows her from HER OFFICE!

She was fortunate to go to the Saturday get together in New Hampshire last month and REALLY GOT THIS BUSINESS!

Don't be surprised.

THIS SCENT-SATIONAL BUSINESS WORKS IN A BIG WAY!

Btw,did I tell you how AWESOME YOU ARE? YES!

My co-worker paid me for only one of the votives because he said one of them was strong enough to do the trick. I don't burn votives, but apparently they have a rather strong scent throw as well smileys/smiley1.gif.

Next time I'll sell them for $3.00 a piece. smileys/smiley2.gif

Frances, my husband's the candle guy at work too! smileys/smiley36.gif I had him take sample votives in one day and now he's calling me during the day, asking if I have something in stock for so and so, etc. I love it!
