How are your team's sales looking for December? I know we're just over the half way point, butmy numbersare looking pretty grim so far. I'm doing all I can to communicate the wonderful opportunities we have available this month, but I'm not seeing hardly any activity.
Just wondering if I'm alone out there.

For thirty years I have been involved in sales of some sort or another... most of the time it was in the corporate world. However direct sales has been a part of my life also for many years. My experience was : other than actual retail stores... sales are down in December.
Thereby December becomes a wonderful time for:
Taking time to bake, decorate, enjoy the Holidays
Grow yourself spiritually with small groups, reading, etc
Do something extra for your customers..even if there is no financial reward immmediatey
OR......
Doing something for others such as:
Volunteering at a food shelf
Visiting a day care center
Helping at your Humane shelter
Remember
It's not about you

I had 1 spa and 1 cancellation...I decided back in November to make spa baskets to sell instead of parties because I knew it was going to be flat....I sold about 25 or so baskets....My sales on those baskets were over $2,000....during these times of year, you have to do other things than the spa parties, think outside the box.

well i wish I could have done that but I dont have the money to put into making any baskets right now. If you dont have the sales to get the money you cant make the baskets. I am relying on sales to get the money to place any orders.

I agree with you there. I did have alot of inventory that I needed to move and this did help move all that, so I didnt have to order anything...also, I required at least 1/2 of the basket cost up front and 1/2 at delivery....this did help with the money situation...I went to the dollar store and bought items to go into the baskets as well as the basket itself.

Just curious as to who you sold all your baskets to? Did you put up fliers or contact old customers? Way to go! That's incredible with sales over $2000!

I am wondering also...We did not sell as many baskets...we sold a lot of gift mugs....and we had small gift bags with "Trial" size SOH IM (card) and a 1 oz. extreme hand repair lotion. So please give us some tips on how and who to sell these baskets to!
Thanks,
Felicia

I did make fliers and post them at fire/police depts, boat stores, etc...but I did not get any calls from them. I told all my friends, family, business associates etc, sent emails to men on my email list. This is where I got them from. My auto insurance agent bought a couple for his mom and mom n law, my health insurance agent bought the majority for his staff and ins. reps, a friend bought a 12 days of xmas for her daughter, and my brother bought a 12 days for his wife. I was very fortunate to know these people and it all work out this way...I am associated with alot of business organizations and know these people through there. I am a huge network queen. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I am having a slow month also. I was hoping the deal yesterday would get some of my team to order, but it didn't work. I am hoping they will order the instant manicure when it goes on sale, that deal is great!!
I didn't do any baskets cuz I really didn't know what to do and I stink at making them, they always look like a 4 year old made them. maybe by next year I will have that down better!! and where to market them. I have only been in a year and still trying to figure it all out.
on the flip side I have recruited 10 this month but that hurts your sales at parties because everyone wants to join, but I needed them for my team. I won't make my DIQ numbers this month I am in month so am just hoping to make 6,000 to restart in month 4
hold out for the 21st deal and we will see what happens!!

I'm fairly new to BC, and am mystified by your comment. Would you please go into more depth here? Are you saying that you'd be in better shape business-wise if your team were recruiting rather than you recruiting??
http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gifI just don't get what you are saying, sorry. (If there's a problem recruiting, I'd be better off knowing ahead of time so with luck I can side-step it???)

what I meant was at parties if everyone joins then they are not buying that night at the party, so your party sales are down. if they do the $500 order to qualify that helps, but not everyone does that. You need recruits if you want to grow and you never know a lot of times when they get to beautiU they decide they want to do more with the business. I also meant that if you want to build a team everyone on your team needs to recruit, not just you. that way you get a team faster and have a lot of different people not just your friends or family.
hope that makes sense. no problem with recruiting that is great!!
