I am a Avon rep and would love to trade products with other companies so I can finish up on Christmas. Basically, you look through the current Avon/Mark brochure and order what you would like. Then instead of paying, just let me order the same amount of products from your company. We would just trade products instead of buying. Get what I mean?
Anyways, I would like to do this with any type of company .. even adult/romance.
PM me if you would like to do this trade.

For those of you that have traded before, I am confused as to how it works. Wouldn't it be more fair to trade on the amount of each consultant is making than the price of the item.
FOr example, I know MK has a 50% mark up. My base commision is 25%. So if someone from MK orders $50 worth of product from me, I am actually paying $37.50 for her product. If I order $50 from her, she is paying $25 for mine. It doesn't seem like that is how it should work.
I have never swapped orders before, so I might be missing the main point! :)

I think the point is to order like you are a customer from all the
vendors. If I were to order $50.00 worth of product from someone who
has agreed to swap with me, she would then order $50.00 worth of
product from me regardless of the commissions. This is a way for
consultants to trade and get Christmas gifts for their own families
without having to PAY cash for anything, and it also helps them with
their sales amounts for the month or get rid of items that might be
phasing out.
If I wanted something from Walmart that cost $50.00 and the store
manager would trade me straight across for $50.00 worth of my products,
I wouldn't be able to figure out how much money Walmart actually makes
on that item up front.
And the key is that swapping is an AGREEMENT between two vendors and
they come to terms with what they want to offer and what they want to
purchase. It's just too difficult to have to figure out sales
amounts and commissions etc. It's just about getting gifts for
ourselves for CHristmas etc. If you don't want to trade with someone
because you feel like they are paying less for your products you just
don't trade.

I would be willing to do this with other direct sales dealers as well, if anyone would like to trade/swap Mary Kay for your products. Some things I am looking for myself to finish Christmas shopping are:
Children's toys
Candles
Scrapbooking supplies
Some clothing items/earrings from Avon

TMartin - When I have traded with other consultants before, it was always on the retail value of the product.

I think when you trade with someone, you should trade retail price for retail price. This way you both end up getting the other's product/service at your wholesale cost.

I am willing to do this with certain companies:
Candle Companies
Gourmet Food Companies
Mark
probably others too. If you are interested. Send me an email with which animal kits you would like and I will figure out the value and look to see if there is something I need from your company.
Thanks!
