but i have received several comments from customers thinking i will buy a ift for their child. My fler says a special gift from santa - it does not say tell santa what gift you want. this is getting a little to much.

well i guess next year i will be changing the wording

I just listed what my letters come with so they would know what to expect.

I don't know if I'm going to do it again next year. I'm in the hole from this year, didn't even come close to making any sort of profit. It just didn't seem worth the time or effort that I put into it.

This will just be added to my long line of failed attempts to make some money. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif

I had to redo my ordering options this year after buying stamps and posting the box to NP the cost was still too high and the margin of profit too low even with increased price of letters this year. Last year mine were $6.00 but because postage went up so did my price. Now I offer 3 packages and 3 different prices. I don't think I am goin gto offer the NP postmark next year but haven't decided yet.

I bought 4 packs of paper at like $7 each, envelopes, rubber stamps to decorate the envelopes, stickers and I made copies of flyers at Office Max to hand out so I have the cost of those too. Not to mention postage to mail them to the NP and the stamps for the envelopes.
So adding all that up I didn't come anywhere close to making any kind of money on them, I just lost money.

Ouch the first year is always the roughest the second year is better cause your overhead drops dramatically cause you have left over supplies. I just took a bite with the postage issue but think I have that resolved for the remainder of this year and next.
