View Full Version : How easy is it to promote?

Thanks for all your replies to my other questions.... now I have another one smileys/smiley2.gif
How easy is it to promote to the next level in your company?
Is it simply on number of recruits or do you have to maintain a certain level of downline sales?
How much commission do you receive from your downline?
I see many pro's and con's to these answers.....
For example,if it's extremely easy to promote, like if the company offers free signup and you have a bunch of people joining under you and they don't require a certain dollar amount to qualify, then you'll advance in the business quickly and it looks good to be a Team Leader or Manager, or whatever. However are you really making any commission? If your company says you have to have 5 downline to reach the next level, but they don't have to have any sales, what good is it? You're a leader in name only, right?
Or, if it's hard to advance, because the sign up is high andthe requirements are pretty high too (like you have to have $3000 in downline sales to reach the next level), it will take you longer to reach that next level and that may be discouraging, but... you could make really good money in downline commission once you reach that level. But will you get discouraged before you actually reach that level???
I'd really like some good discussion on this, but please don't critisize one company over another. I'm just trying to compare the advantages and disadvantages of your company's career plan....
Thanks!

With AtHome America, you really only need 1 personally mentored person in your downline to promote. But promotion is also based on sales in the beginning. So obviously, the more people you have, the easier it will be to make the sales goals. We have three levels of promotion based on your personal sales and team sales. Then, we have more levels of promotion which occur when you've helped other people promote.
To be paid your bonus, you must have $1000 in personal sales. Then, with at least one person in your downline and based on team sales, you can promote:
$2000 = 1 star team leader
$3000 = 2 star team leader
$4000 = 3 star team leader (must achieve this 2 consecutive months)
The 3 star team leader is where it's at! Bonus is best and you gain access to more leadership training and resources. From there, you help other people become a 3 star team leader, and that bumps you into the first of three levels in the Executive Branch. It's a fun ride! I love that people can promote so easily and early in their business with AHA!

How easy is it to promote to the next level in your company? With Arbonne it is 6,000 volume (for your whole group) in one or two months. Most people are doing this in the first couple months.
Is it simply on number of recruits or do you have to maintain a certain level of downline sales? I have been with companies that have it based on sale and recruiting.. I think that is hard because if someone quits you keep having to find new people.. if it is just on your group sales then you don't and even those you buy wholesale go towards your goal. I am not saying anyother companies are bad, this was just my experience.
How much commission do you receive from your downline? 4% as a consultant and 8% on DM which is our first level.. on everyone including yourself.
I hope this helps if you have any other questions I like them.

For Big Yellow Box by Crayola, you need 2 active consultants under you to promote ~ you do not need to maintain any special sales level (aside from normal qualification) ~ and you earn 2% on your recruit's sales in addition to your 25% on personal sales.
To reach the next level, you need 6 active consultants (4 personal recruits) and maintain a $3,500 team (including yourself) level and you will earn 5% of your team sales.
It keeps going up from there until you reach 11.5% on team sales..
The levels are challenging, yet very attainable, imosmileys/smiley4.gif

Hey there,
With my company it is VERY easy. It is both on sales and team members. However, I have hit 4 levels in 5 months. So.... we do offer a Open For Business kit. That is when they have a show and the company matches them $ for $ with a kit instead of FREE hostess benefits. It is great. All sales count towards monthly sales. I do get over rides on my team. Starting next month I will have a $250 bonus every month plus my commissions, because I am up to the next level. Right now it is a $50 bonus plus my commissions. A very great Jump! If you want more info on my company you can email me at jotrv6@aol.com
Because I could write forever on how great it is. I have been with other companies and have finally found my "home" where I can actually MAKE money!

Each company has it's own policy for different reasons.
For us, you need 5 recruits, plus it is based on team sales, and personal sales.
It is not hard if you set goals and work your biz. If you are working your biz 4 parties a month, and have a balance, you'll promote.
That is how it should be, promoting should be achieved by working your biz consistantly.

With Watkins you can promote to different levels on your own, or with a downline~ Our first level is achieved by obtaining approx $500 in sales! That's it! You get a bonus check on top of it, and Points to redeem for gifts/prizes~ There are a few achievment levels one can complete on thier own, including manager level~ smileys/smiley17.gif

With White Lily, it is based on recruits, personal sales, and team sales. You are promoted based on the number of recruits; however you need to make certain personal sales and team sales to earn your commission.
I have found it very easy to move up in the company...but I think that is because I truly love our products and stand behind them. I think it is a wonderful company and put my heart into it. I also think that anyone else could do the same!

How easy is it to promote to the next level in your company? To become Unit Manager with lia sophia, you need at least 3 "active" advisors under you and you need team sales of $5,000 a month of which $1,500 of that needs to be from you a month.
Is it simply on number of recruits or do you have to maintain a certain level of downline sales? You must maintain an average of $1,500 in personal sales a month and your team must maintain $5,000 a month in sales and your personal sales are included in the $5,000.
How much commission do you receive from your downline?10% of my teams RETAIL sales!!

The numbers I gave are for Group Manager. Sterling Manager is only 3 recruits.
Thanks Leah!

With Mary Kay, advancing is based on # of active recruits that you have. Once you have promoted to Grand Achiever (car driver) and Director and above, it is based on # of active recruits and a monthly wholesale requirement.

How easy is it to promote to the next level in your company? Quite easy! You need 3 people to be a team leader and 6 to be a manager (1st level).
Is it simply on number of recruits or do you have to maintain a certain level of downline sales? We also have to maintain doing about 6 pearties per month on our own. There's no downline requirements. We just have to be "working " our own business and they figure about 6 parties per month is doing that (plus keeping in contact with everyone).
How much commission do you receive from your downline? You receive 1% - 6% as a team leader. It starts at 1% and adds for each person up to 6%. As a manager you still make the team leader commission on you DIRECT recruits then you also make 7 - 11% on your whole unit (including your own sales). For me, that means I'll probably be making another $100 or so on my own sales! Yippee!!
I just became a manager today and I'm thrilled with how easy it is, but you also have to be committed to your business. You can't just sit back and let your team make the money, you have to lead by example. We used to have a VERY difficult management program but it was just lowered last month, so this is very exciting. They've promoted 2 managers since Oct. 1 and they'd only had 13 managers before in the past 6 years. So this is definitely going to move our company UP!!

For Juice Plus we have a fast track way to move through the first 2 levels.
The first level by getting 500 points in 30 days or less (which is 6 people buyig the JP capsules).
The second level is 2000 points in 60 days or less (which is 20 total
customers ordering JP capsules- this includes the 5 to get to the fist
level or buy getting a new recruit under you to join and get some
customers).
If you don't make it to these levels in the first 60 days, you can
still get there by accumulating 2000 & 6000 points over any amount
of time.
Once you get to a level it is permanent and you never need to requalify.
You make retail profit on all orders. When you get to the first level
you earn retail plus 6%, the next level- retail plus 14%, the next
level retail plus 22%. You can also earn 5% and 4% bonuses. and at the
next 3 levels you can earn a Business Incentive Bonus of $500 - $3000 a
month! At the 3rd levels and above they not only look at product sales
but structure of the team.
For distributors under you you make the difference of the 22% depending
where they are and where you are. But the majority of the money earned
when you've been in a while and get a good team is the 5 & 4%
bonuses.
I hope this helps!

we have to have at least 3 recruits and 3500 in team sales, only 600 in personal sales. you earn 10% more commission plus team and ind bonuses.. I like the focuson both sales and recruiting, b/c i think to bea leader you have to set an example for your team as well.. by being active adn doing parties!
