We have a booth set up at Santas Village..yesterday, Friday 6-9, Sat 11-9 and Sun 1-5...Yesterday our gift wrapped mugs went really fast so we all are doing more. Here is my question...the original price was $8 but one girl said or for TWO for $10! No that is a no brainer. Is the price too low...here is what is in the mugs: 1 coffee mug, 1 soh sample card, a few mints/candy,etc.,1 mini product like bora bora scrub or a naughty and nice, green tea mask, lip appeal...any mini size item, a business card, shred, cello wrap, and a pretty bow or curlies with gift tag...oh & I put a swiss miss chocolate pack in each mug....So what do you think? Should it be 2/$12?
They look really cute but I don't really know if we are making any profit or just breaking even...the mugs were from .70 - $2.00....I won't buy any more $2...most just $1...We have not sold any gift baskets or SOH..

Ok..I will stop mumbling..Any suggestions on pricing or priced right gifts??

Felicia
p.s. we are registering everyone and doing the SOH demo with extreme hand repair lotion...and not selling that which is suprising!Edited by: tnspagirl

Hi,

It sounds as if you are probably making about $3 of $4 on each mug. I would probably increase the 2 for $10 to 2 for $12 and leacve the musgs at $8. What are you selling the Show of Hands for. We usually run a special on it at shows for $20. Usually we have gotten it on sale and can still make a little profit. Over my open house and a couple of holiday tables I put the Show of Hands and a 1 oz. exttreme repair in a cute cello bag and sold them for $23. They really sold. I imagine people aren't buying things for themselves this time of year and everyone loves a bargin for the gifts they are buying. I know I stocked up on the Show of Hands when it was on sale and so I am still naking a good profit with the set. Good Luck.

Are you offering bookings or getting any? Any leads? I would think breaking even (at the least) and getting some bookings and other sales would be worth it, but it just depends. It *is* such a hard time of the year! I will be so happy once my January shows start!!

Felicia,
Where in TN are you located?

Update: I went up there for 2 hours this morning...school buses come and bring kids from all around so teachers and parents are there. I only made 1 sell...Ocean Bath for $20, in a gift bag and some mints. I got 30 leads and 3 want me to call tonight so they can schedule a pamper party next month! Most said they were coming back tonightbecause they did not really bring any money...One lady has really sensitive skin and all she can use is Merle Norman Cosmetics...she stopped by the booth 4 different times so I know she is interested. I told her about our line for sensitive skin and that I would do a one on one consultation with her.

Well, I have to go get my nails done and meet my director so we can go at it tonight!!! I am excited!

Okay...tonight we had a good night! Lots of leads...many want a party and 2 are interested in joining!! We had about $300 in sales..not as many of the mugs as we thought..some lip appeal...this and that. There is another booth around the corner from us...we were suppose to be the only one but she is doing wreaths and BC....we are BC only and signed up as such....I hate that there are 2 of us. Oh, well.....

Felicia
p.s.we are still doing the mugs 2/$10 or 1/$8...

That's too bad about having another BC rep around the corner. :( I was at a very small christmas/craft show a few weeks ago and they have 4 (yes 4!) Tupperware tables! Not good for any of them! It was really too bad because, of coarse, none of them had good sales...and one table was offering a big discount, so that took away from the few potential sales for the others. I'm glad it wasn't me, let me tell ya! lol

Unfortunately, with the other table also selling something else, that was probably how they did get in. Not good etiquitte!

I think you still did do very good, though! I'm copying your idea and making up some mugs right now for my booth tomorrow...very small town, but here's hoping... :)

Update day 3: We had almost $500 in sales. Many leads...we put a1 oz holiday lotion and "trial size" of the SOH card in a mini gift bag with tissue (from nashville wraps) for ONLY $5..VERY CUTE! We sold out of what gift bags we had!
The other BC booth did NOT demo on day 1l..they do now but they are using the chocolate fountain which we thought was clever but we found out by someone coming to tell us that it was gross because it is the same water going through there when they rinse off there hands..imagine the dead skin and stuff..yuk!So ladies DON'T use a fountain! oh and they are selling there SOH 1/$20 OR 2/$30 started today..that is too low and we are not doing that!
Many leads....so that is all...Sunday is the last day....
Goodluck Boyz On My Side....let us know how it goes!

Update last day....Very slow..pretty good leads...we sold some..no full size. People getting last minute stoccking stuffers..around $4/5...overall it went well many leads. We took the leads that we had ourselves and a few more for working and then they will be divide amoungst the team at January's unit rally to do a booking blitz....I am getting a hold of some of mine now to get them on the books in January.
Thanks for all of the help and support!

I would have TWO selections.. a Ten dollar one for those people who have signed up to bring a gift worth ten dollars. and a lower priced one.. for stingy people like myself. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif....oh and don't forget a very expensive one for huvvies.

Discalimer.. BC is not the brand with which I am affiliated.

I created a word:
Huvvies are the men who are either Married to us , or LUV us.. or .. maybe BOTH of the ABOVE.

Glad all went well, Felicia!

I, on the other hand, did not do so well at all! I had one small sale (from another vendor...a friend) at the very end of the day and that was it! Very disappointed! I was very shocked that not one person was interested in my 'cheaper' mugs, of all things. But, you win some, you lose some.

Maybe next time...

Sorry Coral...
I think it may have been because it was Sunday and being closer to Christmas and all. We only sold a little over $100 today and about $1200 for the entire weekend.Just think if we were the only BC rep there!!

Like you said we win some and loose some! I am sending Thank Younote cardsout to some who registered..thanking for stopping by and registering. I am including a coupon that entitles them to an1 hour spa foryou and up om8 of your friends......call within 48 hours toschedule and receive$50in product for only $15 redemable only at your spa escape and then it has my info on there and a picture of the SOH instant manicure top right corner.I know we should follow up with phone calls but I have to work Monday and Tuesday for 12 hours so I won't be able to.
ok...I am gonna stop blabbing!!!

Felicia,

Yes I'm on Blair's team, are you?

I've never been to Martin, how is BC up there? I have a gf who goes to school there and I'm trying to recruit her bc she loves this stuff and I keep telling her how she could do so well with college girls and her teachers.

She'll see the light one of these days! hahah!!

glad to hear your weekend went well, I'm about to swear off events for a while, I've lost out about 160 in booth rentals since sept so I'm a little burnt out atm. HOWEVER! I've been loading my baskets into my car and driving around to car dealers and telling these men that if they're in the doghouse I can get them out and if they aren't to think of me as a get out of jail free card when they are! They're loving it!!

elleisforlove,

No, I am not on Blairs team a friend of mine signed up and 2 weeks later she signed me up...6 1/2 months after that she became a director and she is 3 1/2 months from her mustang! She is Angie Lattus and our Executive Director is Dawn Stevens. We signed up in September 2006. Our team is in the western part of Kentucky, St. Louis, MO and Northwest Tennessee!! It has room for more spa angels!!! We have a girl, Kelli Raines, who is a Spa Angel that attends UTM..she is new and hasn't done much yet! Yeah, that girl will see the light.....hopefully soon! I am doing some college girls pajama parties in January! Can't wait...they love this stuff...so do I!
