Many home based businesses require that you use a credit card, debit card, or electronic checking to get started. That is probably why you are being asked that. I ask that my prospects not because I'm being nosy, but because if they don't have that, they are not going to be able to get started. Whether it costs $1 or $1000 to start a business, most companies are not going to take cash...

If you want to know about a low-cost business that has been around over 20 years, check out my website.

If they are asking you that regarding a job, I would consider it a HUGE red flag. It most likely means it is a scam.

nowadays, its just hard to trust anyone when it comes to those things...with all the identity theft going on, id rather not give my credit card or debit card number away... its scary.<!--

I have to agree, wsol will never ask for a credit card info. I am not sure either why this was posted under the wsol folder. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley24.gif

You should NEVER be asked to pay money! If for a business sometimes yes, but to work at home NO! W*st is free to work at home, didnt' cost me a dime to get started. I'm doing great with them been with them for over a year now and loving it.

Some home based businesses require to have a credit or debit card before starting up, but if you've been asked for a credit card to start a job, you are the one that should say goodbye!

You should never give your credit card info over the phone, unless you've initiated the call and have done the due diligence on the company in question.
