View Full Version : Giving what we love for Christmas

Ok, I thought I would get your opinions on an idea I had for Christmas.
A lot of people want to help out families who have a hard time during the holidays by providing gifts and toys and such. I thought maybe it would be nice to contact consultants in my area and get donations of their products to give to a family this Christmas.
I love my product and so do most consultants or they wouldn't be selling. There are so many women(and men) who struggle with the everyday neccesities and can't even think about the fun stuff. This is not a business venture. I am not looking for future business or referals. Most people would love to have nice candles, body products, toys for the kids, but they don't go to shows or order because they can't afford it. I just though this would be a nice way to give what we love to someone who would normally not be able to purchase any.
My plan is to involve my family also, and provide other things that would not be donated to try to make it a better Christmas for someone.
If you have any thoughts or ideas on this, let me know. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks all :)

I think that's a nice idea! Even those "luxury" items that we all sell might just be something they really need. (soaps, shampoos, etc.) This would be a great thing to do for your community if you can find some other consultants near you.

By the way...I used to sell Longaberger! LOVE those baskets!!

If you can't pinpoint a family, local shelters could always use many of the products we carry. Baskets to organize, lotions for residents, etc. We have a women's shelter in our area for abused women. In the past we've donated items that the shelter uses as congrutlations gifts. They'll give residents little gifts for going to an interview, getting a job, getting through a court date, etc. It helps to reinforce positive changes in their lives and I know the women really appreciate it.

To find a family, you could contact any local church. They always know of someone who needs help. smileys/smiley2.gif

And kudos for the very nice idea!

Oh, and I use to sell LB toosmileys/smiley1.gif

It's also a FABULOUS way to get rid of product that is being "phased
out" or discontinued AND use it as a charitable donation on your taxes!
