I am paying today to become a @rbone consultant and I am excited and very very scared. I've prayed and prayed and asked God to give me some type of strategy of how to face this thing. We are new to Houston, TX(been here a month)all the way from Tennessee. Don't have any family and friends here. I am no stranger to selling (used to be a Loan Officer in Tennessee). I'm 7 mos preggos and I need this to work so I can be home with my baby. My hubby is okay w/ all this....I have used a couple of the products and I really like them!
So, we now stay in a 2 bdrm apt and I would like to give some sort of party or presentation. But I don't want to give it IN my apt, don't really want folks in and out my house. We do have a clubhouse....how do I market myself on the internet, face to face, I need tips PLEASSSEE....!
I decided to not use my family in this because they are not very consistent. I asked my mama to try the anti-aging sample my sponsor gave me and she brushed it to the side and made the comment..."Well, you need to think twice about selling this stuff because black folks don't buy this stuff."
I need help before I jump in....You guys please help me. I'm a new mom and I really want to be stay home with my child!!!!

Hi Jay! Maybe you could ask a neighbor or friend to host a party for you. Explain to them all of the goodies they could get if they do this for you.
What do you mean by you are Paying? Do you mean the $29 or are you investing more?
I live in Tennessee! Go vols!

I suggest you contact the person sponsoring you and let them know you want to start your rbn business NOW and work with them to set up an action plan that works for you & your situation to get you where you want to be.
I would also recommend a new Learn & Burn from this month (November) under Leadership "How to Warm Up to Your Cold Market — President Rita Davenport and NVP Jammi Sivadon.
This gal explains how she used the cold market to build her business.
Best of luck to you & welcome!

It's so hard starting a new business and not having the support of family and friends. But believe me, when you get that Mercedes, they'll be joining your team!!! And they'll tell you, "We knew you could do it!"
See if your apartment complex will allow you to host an Arbonne night in the clubhouse. If so, place flyers around. Have the employees of the apartment complex talk it up to. Offer them a free gift if they each bring 5 people.
And listen to the LNB. Go to hair salons, nail salons, doctor's offices. Talk with your upline RVP and come up with a plan. And stick to it. Don't jump from idea to idea. Pick one plan of action and go to work.
You can do it!

Sounds like a great way to start!!
Something else you may want to talk to our apt complex about is having a vendor fair as a community event. In my other life as a property manager, we had to have community events every so often. Once I looked around & calledvarious vendors (Pampered Chef, Home Interiors, etc) & offered them a free space in a vendor fair for the community. Each business donated an item as a door prize. In addition to setting up for the event, they also invited their own clients/prospects to the event so as a community we received added traffuc & the residents of our community were able to shop at a "community event" that was basically no cost for my management company(just the cost of light refreshments). It was a win/win for everyone involved.
If the apt complex wouldn't go for that you could consider organizing it yourself. Even if each vendor paid $20-$25 per space/table, many would welcome the opportunity to set up & it would help to defray the cost of the clubhouse.Edited by: Kiana's Mom

I LOVE Teresa's idea. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif
However if you do decide to have the presentation at your appt, make sure to personally introduce yourself to as many residents as you can, preferably before you invite them. People are more likely to attend if they know you. Also, put your pic on the invitation flyer so people can see who's inviting them--again, if they don't know who you are, they may not feel comfortable attending. (By the way, be sure to get permission from the apt complex before you post flyers.)
Look through old posts to get ideas on how to run the party... in general, serve easy-to-make but yummy food and drinks, play games and make it fun. Make it look easy because easy is duplicable and duplicable will hopefully attract potential bbs. Have as many products there as possible, even if it means borrowing them from your upline. (If they're not local, ask them to ship the products!)
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your new business! It is the hardest, hardest hardest part in my opinion when family or friends don't support you. We all deal with it in some way... they'll hopefully come around. I recommend you make little baggies with a business card, host rewards sheet, and brief company description with some sort of little candy treat. Hand these out to everyone! Keep catalogs on hand, and a kit on hand to drop off for others to try. Listen to the Learn and Brns- they have TONS! And, of course, contact your upline! They are more than happy to help you!!!!

I have heard some folks are giving samples of the energy drink. They are using an 8 oz water bottle, directions (print 4 to a sheet, cut & hole punch the corner) and a small bag (hole punched in the corner)witha fizzy tablet tied to thewater bottle with a ribbon. Very cute.

Hi Jay- I'm new to the site and wondering how your presentation went at the apt. complex? I started as a consultant in December and my business has been slow but steady and I'm looking for new ideas too....
