Okay this has had me baffled for a while now, so I thought I would ask the experts. :)
I did an event recently with a jewelry rep. She said her commision is 50%. Then she said, her hostess frequently makes 30-50% of the show in free product. She said a number of times a year they do 50% or even more hostess credit (extra $25 here and there for certain things). So between the consultant making 50% and the hostess making 50% or more- what is paying for the actual jewelry? I realize the hostess credit is not COSTING the company that amount, but, I am sure there are upline percentages to be added too - plus what it takes to run a company...and then there is the cost of the actual product......
Am I missing something obvious?? smileys/smiley5.gif

Well, I guess that is it, but wouldn't that have to be like really, really huge to accomodate all of that??

I have never heard of that before. I work for lia sophia jewelry. We have a very nice hostess program, and we get get paid pretty well in my opinion. Our hostesses earns between 20-40% of show sales in free jewelry, 2 1/2 price items, and four bonus items. Consultants earn 30% on all proffit sales, with up-line earning more. I always wonered how our company could do that, muchl ess what you described above!

I used to work in the office of a Home Based Jewelry Business company. The markup is the key. Over 400% in some pieces.
But, most of them have a lifetime guarantee.....
If you know someone in the Jacksonville, FL area that needs Neck Forms, Bracelet Bars, Triple T Bar, or Jewelry Wooden case to carry their jewelry, let me know!

Debbie,
Do you sell those things you described? I am a rep for Bangles, Baubles & Beads. A new DS company and I will be needing some displays soon. Do you have a website?
Thank you.
