Hi everyone,

I have a friend who is expecting and was complaining last night about how her skin has started breaking out really bad (she starting using the AcneAdvantage wash instead of her RE9 wash) and she's having crazy mood swings (hormones). Would she benefit from using one of the balancing creams, if so should she use the PhytoProlief or Prolief, and are they save for pregnant gals?

Thanks for all your help, I'm not very knowledgable in these products yet.

It is generally not recommended for pregnancy. Google natural progesterone & pregnancy and you willl get some good info.sorry I don't have time to give you links right now. But women make more progest. during pregnancy

anet is right. Except if you were using it before you got pregnant, then you need to stay on it for a certain amount of time during pregnancy. I'm sure you can also go to Dr. John Lee's site for info on it!

Actually she should ask her doctor.. My one friends doctor told her to stay on the Prolief during the pregs but mine said with my history I didn't need it at the time.. It wouldn't hurt me but because of my history my levels were always good. I am pregs now and had a bad breakout this week after 15 yrs on Arbonne. I just switched up my products a little and it is going down.. just my story smileys/smiley1.gif

Thanks so much for the responses. I'm glad I asked!

What should I recommend for her skin care routine, she wants to have that great 'pregnancy glow' everyone talks about, but instead she looks like a teenager going through puberty!smileys/smiley36.gif

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

You're right Kim, should always consult a doctor first.

LMichelle, I know how she feels. That's how I looked too. There was no glow whatsoever with me! I just had to wait it out. Then it came back after I had the darn baby. smileys/smiley1.gif

Well my girlfriend and I both started using some of the Acne line when we start pregs breakouts. Thanks always seems to work... the thermal fusion masque is good too. Mine is getting better after a week. You just have to sometime wait it out.. like Jennifer said. Sometime your levels are different everyday.. Like one day I feel oily the next I have dry patches every where.. Welcome to you don't own your body anymore.. smileys/smiley36.gif

Good luck!!!

Has anyone used Prolief while nursing? The product catalogue says to consult w/ your Dr. and I plan on faxing the ingredient list to mine to get her okay. But I just wondered if any of you had first hand experience. I would like to use it, but am worried it willdiminish my milk supply.

I used it the whole time I nursed #4 (I can't believe she's 5 now!
*sniff*) - I breastfed her for a full year without any problems. I was
pretty pleased with myself, too, because she was the only one out of my
4 that I successfully breastfed exclusively for an entire year. smileys/smiley1.gif I never had to supplement with formula. <!--

I am glad to hear it did not effect milk supply! I will still check w/ my Dr. but it is nice to hear from you since you have first-person experience. Thanks ... and congrats on nursing exclusively for an entire year. From what I hear and read, that is relatively rare!

I am still nursing my baby #4, too, and he is 17 months old. I started the prolief as soon as I started my cycle again, when he was 6 months old. I have a very ample milk supply and it didn't affect it in the least.
