My name is Cindy McKie and normally I hang out at the WAHMs Who Write section. (I’m a freelance content writer for online businesses). I’m working on a project that I was hoping to get some input on via some volunteers who sell candles. I hope it’s all right that I pop in here for my request.

I don’t want to make this too long and take up too much of your time so I’ll be as brief as possible. Part of my job is to write content for websites that help them place well in search engine results via articles that are keyword optimized. I had someone ask me if search engine optimization and keyword articles would help people in direct sales with their business. My first reaction was that I really didn’t know because I didn’t know how many of them had online websites that they can optimize themselves. Then I remembered Mia Bella due to the fact that a few years ago I was actually a Mia Bella rep before my writing career began and took me in that direction. I remembered that the company encouraged personal websites so I chose Mia Bella as my research model.

Anyway, my research showed me that there are actually a fair amount of keyword phrases that relate to candles, and specifically soy candles, that Mia Bella websites don’t rank for in Google. This got me to wondering if that could be changed.

So that is what led me here. I was wondering if there would be 4 Mia Bella reps that would be willing to test out some keyword articles and article marketing strategies to see if it helped improve their online business.

I would give you a package that included 10 articles that target keyword phrases relating to the candle business and a report that explains how to best use them and other info on setting up articles on your website for maximum effect.

Anyone interested in this would have to have two things: their own personal website (not the company one that comes with your membership) and a willingness to follow my suggestions to see if these articles help.

OK…I think I’ve taken up enough of your time. If anyone is interested in something like this could you please PM me and I’d be happy to give you more information and choose 4 people for my experiment.

On another Mia Bella note—has Mia Bella expanded into <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on">Manitoba</st1:State>, <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Canada</st1:place></st1:country-region> yet? I used to live in <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ontario</st1:place></st1:State> when I was a rep and they hadn’t made it here yet. I miss my Hot Apple Pie candles and was wondering if I could find a local rep.

If you need more, count me in. I purchased a personal website from a former MB rep and am in the process of changing it over to "me" and my writing style. It's a SiteBuildIt website - not sure if you're familiar with them or not. They have lots of keyword search tools built into their functions and really give a lot of support. But I'm always open to any help and suggestions I can get. Here's the URL if you'd like to look at it:

As you can see there are about five people here who have responded and I have one via private messanger but please feel free to speak up if you still want in. While I originally asked for only 4 people I'm seeing some very different business models here and that's a factor to consider.

This doesn't mean the people that have responded already are not being considered http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif--everyone is. I just want to make sure I get a really good sampling of Mia Bella rep's personal websites to choose from so we can see how these articles benefit each online business model.

I will find out if MB has expanded into Manitoba. I know that there were some issues that were being worked out in the Canadian provinces so I am not sure which areas are affected. We do have a few Canadian reps who post here who can probably give you the latest info.

Is there any soy in the candles at all anymore or is it now just a veggie blend? Just asking because I might have to change the angle of some of these articles so I want to make sure they're accurate.

It's really not a huge deal as far as the articles go. I'll really just need to change one article but thank you for letting me know.

I want to thank everyone who responded to my plea for volunteers. I didn't expect such a big response but it's wonderful! I now have more than enough people for my project and I'll be going over all the info and putting the finishing touches on things over the weekend.

I'll be in contact with those who will be participating early next week.
