I have some "crafty" items I would like to sell. Has anyone sold and had success on etsy?
I tried selling these before on e-bay with no success. I do know that at local craft shows they are selling like mad and I sell them at more than 1/2 of what they are selling for at those shows!
Does etsy get good results?

I've haven't tried Etsy yet, but have wondered how successful people were with Etsy, so I'm anxious to see what other say. What sort of craft items do you sell? I have tole painted items, and candy wraps, crochet items.

A friend of mine that sells handmade bath items sells there and loves it. She closed up her ebay store because she does much better on Etsy.

It really depends on what you sell. I tried etsy but found that I did a lot better on eBay. You can always try it since it's cheap to list things there.

I would make up buisness cards with the etsy url for your store (if you have one). That way when you are at a craft fair you can have them out as well as giving one with every purchase. You would get some great exposure to your etsy site.

I've been selling on etsy since last March. My page says I've sold 197 items since then - some are bulk wholesale orders though so I've sold many more than 197 individual items.
I sell pet collars and it's super slow for me right now. It does depend on what you sell. Some people are doing a crazy amount of sales and some are not selling at all. I think it's the combo of what you sell, how you present it and how you promote.
For 20 cents a listing it's not a big risk to give it a shot!
