My checks are almost always more than my husband's and I especially love it because I do it all from home! He has to commute almost an hour each way everyday to earn his check. I feel so very blessed to be able to work from home...especially with the price of gas!

How AWESOME is that!! My goal is to relieve some of the
stress on my husband. BUt, hey if I can surpass what his employer pays

CONGRATULATIONS!!
I am still waiting for that to happen to me. Actually my goal has been to earn as much or more than I was before I left corporate America a few years ago to stay home with the kids.
Speaking of skeptical people........when I first started my business 3 years ago, my dad was thrilled for me. He always thought I should leave corporate America to be home with the kids and was very vocal about what a good decision he thought that was. When I started my Body Shop at Home biz, he said "I'm so glad you found a hobby." At the end of my first year, he was shocked at how well I did. I sure showed him. And I'll never forget that comment. He meant it in the nicest way, but it has really motivated me to show him (and many others)that this is way more than just a hobby.
Congrats again on such a great accomplishment!!

Wow! Now I have to ask, how long have you been in your business and how do you manage to make checks that big? I have found that I have some spectacular months and then others where I am happy just to meet my quota to maintain downline commissions. I really wish that I could have my monthly sales be more consistent. Also, are you doing so well because of downline commissions or is it mainly your commissions? I have started to build a small team, but I know it will take awhile to be able to have those big downline commission checks.

Hi Angie - I have been with AHA for 2 and a half years - my monthly sales are always $2000 or more and I am always working with my team to help them reach their goals and build their businesses as well!
I just really love my biz - and work it as a biz!
also --- AHA has an awesome program called early money bonus - it is designed to put $$ in the new HSS's pocket FAST - when you mentor - for the first 2.5 commission periods - you will be paid a bonus of 15% of the net of whatever your new hss sells - in addition you will also be paid a bonus of 10% of the net of anyone your new HSS mentors.....
This in combination with being able to earn your kit free - really helps you grow a team fast with AHA - I have several new HSS that just started and are just doing AWESOME!

Congrats Lisa!!! You have to love hearing things like that, because there are SO MANY PEOPLE who think direct sales is a scam or that you can't ever make any money at it.
We just had a regional meeting two weeks ago and they asked some leaders to talk about the check that was the big 'ah ha moment' for them and/or their husband. My leader stood up and told about when she got one of her first big monthly bonus checks. She said it was 'back when if it was more than $9,999 it had to be seperate checks.' and she received FOUR checks for her bonus that month. I always say to my team that WE have the ability to have control in making more money by doing more personal events and also offering the opportunity to more people. I am a big believer in leading by example, myself! $2000+ sales a month too...
I also am receiving my biggest commission check so far - because of my personal business - and also because of my team! Reorders are GREAT!!!
When Homemade Gourmet offered the Preferred Customer program, to our clients (they get 20% off ) - it has started to add more stability to our paychecks even if we are not doing as many home shows. Plus, it is agreat perk to our customers who just want the product.
it's great to see thatwe can have a balance while working at home!!

Thats awesome!! Right now my businesses are adding the 'entertainment' funds to our budget, I hope to get to the point it replaces my full time job!!

Sounds like October has been good to a lot of us! Our company saw an 80% increase over last year's October. I'd say the economy is just FINE when it comes to our profession!

I think October has been very good. I heard that Scentsy gave outa few$20,000 commission checks in October. Now that would really have you sailing through the Christmas shopping. :)
