View Full Version : Comfort Zone Poem

hey all, with Debbie's great accomplishments of getting out of her comfort zone, I thought I would post the "comfort zone" poem...hope it formats ok! It's important to note that all the people you see out there who are successful (in your eyes) have had to do the very same thing; get over that hurdle. You can do that by BELIEVING in your product, company, the industry, and of course youself! Enjoy!

My Comfort Zone
By Author Unknown
I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.
The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.
I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.
If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; success is there for you!

Hi Deb! Been thinking of you; Hope all is well for you and your team!
Looking forward to the NH event! Doubt if I'll do Vegas this year...maybe long island?? DEFINITELY NH!!
Glad you liked the poem. I keep it in front of me when I get "nervous" about making a call, whatever. If we just detached from the results and
remembered that "lots of people make a ton of money in network marketing; I can , too!" we'd do just fine!
To the TOP!

hi Livvy! It's a great one, isn't it? I have 3 big "WHY's" for doing my businesses; 2 kids entering college, and I don't want to teach past 55...yep, those are big whys! I am going to laminate this poem and keep it near my phone! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

That's great!! I will be printing this one out!!
I stepped out of my comfort zone this past weekend too -- and had a home party! I've done craft shows and lead calling, but hadn't intended on doing home parties. Well, it went great and I have 3 more booked!!!! It was actually easier than a craft show IMO. Only 3 hours and I made as much in that amount of time as I have at some shows. Woo - hoo for stepping outside the zone!!

Thanks Julie for sharing that poem with all of us!
Angie, I'm glad your party went well. Once you do one, the rest are all pretty easy. They can be very profitable and fun to do.
Enjoy all the others and congrats on more bookings!

Hey Julie,
I'm so honored that my post inspired you to put this poem out there for everyone.
That poem is awesome, and anyone of us who has those fears (and we all do, to some extent) can relate to it. Thanks so much for posting it.
Angie, that's great that your party went so well - and 3 more bookings from it! That's something I haven't tried yet, but am thinking about. I have a big show coming up on December 6th, so I'm kind of holding off till after that. Again, congratulations!
So, again, thanks to all for what you do - together we're unbeatable!!
Debbie
