Hi All. Have any of you tried a direct mailing through the USPS announcing your business to new home owners in your area? If so, how do you go about locating a listing? I know there are sites you can pay, but are there any resources out there I am not aware of to get a free listing? I was thinking of sending out a bulk mailing congratulating new homeowners and offering a free votive and 15% off their first order coupon. Would appreciate any feedback. smileys/smiley1.gifLesly

Lesly,

I'm not sure about free listings---but I have been doing this also.

I talked w/ a few realtors--and almost all of them said to get the list from the newspaper instead of paying. (unless you want a very specific audience) We have a weekly list of all home sales/transfers etc... and it is tells you the part of town, how much the home sold for etc...

You may want to look into that w/ your newspaper.

Hi Lesly, we have the same thing in our paper that Andrea was talking about. It is in the weekly Real Estate Section. It gives the peoples name who bought, the address, and even how much the house sold for. I would definately include a sample in the envelope, that would increase your chances of a call back!!

Also, some towns have the welcome wagon which i think you may have a fee for that but i would deifinately check your city or chamber to get info on it

Keep us posted on what happens. Good luck!! smileys/smiley2.gif

Thanks Andrea and Jennifer, I am feeling kind of stuck and trying to figure out more ways that I can get my name and these great products out there. I have lots of great ideas I have gotten from you all and others at MiaBella. I also have a two year old thatI have to bring along with me everywhere and it is not very conducive to business. I do not want to leave him, nor can I afford to at this point. So...I really want to make this work but am finding it hard to figure out how. I just really appreciate you all for being so helpful and encouraging and always willing to share good ideas and info with me. LOL Lesly smileys/smiley1.gif
