Hello gals...

I have been a consultant/wholesale buyer for over a year now. i LOVED the mineral powder when it came out and have been using it. when I would apply it, i had a minor bit of itchiness, but it generally subsided very quickly, so I just ignored it. I noticed a couple months ago minor welts around my eyes, again, very minor, went away pretty quickly, and I LOVE the coverage, so I kept using and ignored. Recently, I ran out and it was on backorder...so I used something else until I got more.

After my short break, upon application this time, my face had welts, itchiness, and redness!! It was so bad, my sisters (who I was trying to talk into trying the product) refused to even crack open theirs!!

Has anyone else had this reaction? What do you all think? Should I just send it back?

I am so sad as i really, REALLY love the ease and application of this product!

thanks,

Phyllis

I too expereinced this reaction. Before @bonne came out with their mineral powder foundation I used bare minerals and loved it, couldn't wait to use our own product since i hated the heavy feel of the other foundations compared to the powder foundation i had beocme accustomed to-- of course i switched over to @bonne's when it came out last year at NTC....I WILL NEVER USE IT AGAIN. My face was so red and swollen I had to goto the dermatologist and I brought the make up with me --he threw it in the trash can in his office right in front of me. I don't use the Abonne foundations anymore.....

My daughter had the same reaction. Terrible itchiness aroud her jaw line and cheeks. She tried the bronzing powder this summer and in 10 mins she had tiny little bumps all over her face. She washed it off and her face was fine the next day. I wonder what is causing the reaction.

Keep in mind while the products are hypoallergenic, there is no guarantee that no one will ever have any type of reaction to any of the products. I think you already know the answer to your question, you are having a reaction to the powder so return it.

rbonwham -- yes I did go back to bare minerals -- and to be honest it is cheaper and lasts longer too.

You are right Mary, I know people who are allergic to Clinique so everybody's skin has different reactions.

It is just hard to sell something as expensive as rbon and not be able to say you use all the products or that you have had a reaction. My daughter had a bad reaction to the AI line and hates the FYI cosmetics because they "are greasy and dont stay on" so all her friends AND THEIR MOTHERS now use only SSS and lotions, but complain that there are not enough frangrances to choose from so they are going back to Bath & Body Works.

The moms don't want any more gift baskets for their family members because there are no new fragrances....this is going to be a hard holiday season!!

TUFF BIZ!! But we must press on---right---encouragement please!!!!

Please don't be discouraged. There is a whole world out there beyond family and friends. I would just be honest about the skin reaction because in 99% of the cases there is no allergic reaction. With Arbonne you know the ingredients are very high end professional line. If they weren't aestheticians wouldn't put their reputations on the line and many are using it on their customers!! That is the first I've heard about the fyi line being greasy. My gals absolutely love it!!! But everyone has their own preference. Best of luck and keep at it!!

If*the ingredient*list includes*bismuth oxychloride*or*boron nitride, either, or both could*be the issue. You might try using a rice setting*powder*before you apply the mineral*foundation.* This may "buffer"*any irritation. There are most*likely a*lot of clients*who just*think itching is*normal with mineral powders, and*may not say anything about it.

I'm so sorry that you have a reaction to your product. It's important to be honest when you are selling your products, but I'm sure you can find someone who is sensitive to most makeup other than our companies. If you can do that you can use that other person as a testimonial. "Truthfully, my skin does react to this product, but my friend says that her face breaks out if she uses anything else!"
