Ok, I have a challenge. Tonya (who will be able to post here soon, as soon as her membership is approved) has a client that likes light florals, carnation especially. I am not at my best with florals. Any ideas on creating a carnation scent?
Let's get those creative juices flowing and see what we can come up with.
Thanks in advance for you help.

You won't be able to create Carnation, but similar to Carnation are other white flowers like:
Freesia
Gardenia
Jasmine
Lily
Also similar in lightness/sweetness:
Honeysuckle
Gardenia smells somewhat similar to Carnation. If you added a tiny bit of Freesia and Honeysuckle to Gardenia, it would give the same feeling as Carnation. Carnation scent kind of has 3 facets: Earthy Flower (Gardenia), Sweet (Freesia), Watery/Translucent (Honeysuckle)
Hope it helps!

Here are some ideas that I came across while searching the internet for carnation scents: geranium, bergamot and sandlewood or gardenia, rose, jasmine and sandlewood. I have also seen a few with ylang, ylang but I am not sure if U.B. has this oil or not? Good luck Sandy.

We no longer have ylang ylang. I do have an old bottle from when we used to have it. Tonya, does this help?

I'm on!! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif Thanks for the ideas, ladies. I will make up all of your "carnation" recipes and see if this potential client finds one she likes.
