Ok so What other party plans are out there? I would like to find some where i can earn my kit free and quickly. Any ideas? I like to have fun at my partys. I just can't sell unless it's something fun. I get into jewelry, home decor, Lingerie of course but only liked petra's cause they had good quality romantic lingerie nothing smutty, candles and jewelry i can sell too. so please any ideas, send them my way. Try visiting the website for the DSA. You can do a search by product, by structure (i.e., direct sales, party plan, both, etc.). It might at least help you narrow down some ideas.

One company that I was formerly with I miss tremendously and that is Home and Garden Party. It is a great company! However you can't sign up until Jan 1st because they stopped the sponsoring during the busy season.


A great idea would be a company that is not too popular in your area that you can build on.


I am not sure if you are interested in the Romance biz but I work for For Your Pleasure, and their commission rocks! I do love the money and the bookings come fairly easy! First of all Thank you for all youre support. Yeah I'm really mad at Petra cause the more I think about it the more I think when I signed on They HAD TO KNOW they were selling out so I feel like they tried dumping off samples and supplies order forms etc to unload and make as much as they could off me before they sold out to PR!!! I feel very cheated and decieved I wonder how many other newbie petra consultants feel about this?? Keep sending in the ideas. I have gotten so many and I thank you all for the info and the support and love I feel. I'm getting information from many companies and I'll go through them all and see what it is we need here but don't have and the most important part feeling compassionate about selling the product. If I don't like the product how can I convince my customers that it's good product? THats what I'm doing now is comparing and seeing whats gonna benefit me and my customers the most. Thanks again you have all been so great!! I'm still in shockl about Petra and still very upset and lied to and was not forewarned they was selling out. I don't care if it is same product it has a new name. So that means prices may not be the same, hostess program may not be as good etc. I don't know since no one is calling or mailing me or emailing me any information as to whats going on yet. I can tell you right now that Dec. 1st, Hostess benefits are going to 10% of retail sales. You will also be responsible for that amount at your 40% discount.


They charge you for credit cards, they will deliver the garments and spa products to the hostess after Dec. 1st if you want but you'll lose 5% profit for that. You'll have to get a tax ID and take care of your own sales tax and all that that entails. I've not gotten details on that because I'm not going that far with it.

You're right!! Likke U sauid they can change the name but it'll never be Petra again and for making us get tax id is a crockk of whatever you want it to be. Something better will come along. This I know. Like I said God never shut's one door without opening another. WE WILL PERSEVERE!!!!!!!!!!

actually I feel more like I've been stabbed in the heart and they just twisted it by selling out to PR which I would never sale thier "kind" of product's like others in here I will not sell items that go against my morals and beliefs. As I am sure that as all the newbie consultants feel the same way yoo. think about it. I just ordered invitations, More garment tag's. Samples of the KADT body frosting. Not to mention one of my customers never got her 5 tubes of sexy sud's she had won in a raffel drawing!!! I'm betting if we cosultants new and old there's got to be a class action suit somewhere. And no I did get a email from my Brance reg manager but obviously in the email she felt cheated too as she had been with the company 4 years and climbed the ladder to be a branch reg manager. THanks for everyone's support it does mean alot to me cauise now the anger is gone and the sadness is here now. Cause now I have to sign on with a new company start ALL over on getting the name out and that takes a while. Now I have to figure out what to do for extra money. and to be very honest when I was with petra I only made half of what I actually paid cause i was building my styuff up like buy 2 get 3rd 60% off stickers, samples,welcome to petra packets the list goes on and on. But I did make nearlt 50-100 per show but i reinvested 1/2 back for supplies that petra made us pay for like order forms, hostess collection sheets etc on that too. anyways thanks for everyones support and love that has poured out of so many of you. This has been an awesome boeard to come into. Hope ya'll don't mind that I don't have human kid's though lol I have 9 cat's and one pup and one VERY disabled hubby so think that counts as kids to me anyways lol. Thanks again for all of everybodys help and support and obviousley there's a lot of love here.

You are going thru a grieving period and that is perfectly understandable. My Husband is still grieving about the job he had for 28 years and was laid off from 3 1/2 years ago. It was his life.

Just think for a $500 party you give $50 retail in FREEproduct but it only costs you $30 (less if the item is a net cost product). You leave with a $270 profit that night...more if you have a higher buying discount than the standard 40%consultantsstart with.


Mytax id took me 5 minutes to get online and I printed a copy. It's not as difficult as people think and as a result I can purchase from other companies at wholesale like candles,kids clothes, etc.


As for creditcard processing, get a ProPay account or there is another one (can't remember right off the top of my head right now) for exclusivley PR reps which waivefees so you can recieve a FREE cc machine.

I know you are upset and wasn't trying to sell you on PR just pointing out that the lingerie stays but the company Petra is gone and yes, I have been laid off before from a nice high paying job and been transfered to another company as a result of a corporatemove which majorly SUCKED.


As for the BS comment, I have been with a couple of different party plans and two required me to have a tax id and one was not a new company but well established and still around. All PR reps know about the tax ids when they sign on. Petra was acquired but not it's policies and rules. Even though it seemed like theperfectcompany something wasflawed but then againno company is without some sort of flaw. That's still no excuse for how the company was sold and its consultants were left hanging.


I'm sorry it didn't work out with you and Petra. I think the concept of the company was great because I almost joined at one point butI find it strange that they did not do the ethical thing of paying out all remaining compensation though.

I'm pretty sure they are paying out. That's what I've been told anyway. I am having faith that the Lord will provide it, so I'm expecting a check by the end of next week in the name of Jesus!!!

I do feel like PR is a well established company and a great opportunity for the ladies that feel it's the right thing to do. The reason I decided to not stay is strictly because of my relationship with the Lord and my using my business to witness to people. I know that the Lord wanted me in a different direction because until I decided to go in a different direction I was sick to my stomach and not sleeping. As soon as I decided to leave, all that left me. And for the other ladies that have relationships with God that do stay, I think that's great for them. As long as they are doing what the Lord wants them to do and not chasing a big pay day.


The only thing that is aggravating me right now is the fact that I have orders in to PR and have had for 2 weeks now and they've not been shipped and no one seems to know anything. And girls from my branch had shows in to Petra that weren't shipped before the transfer and no one knows about those either. We are dealing with very unsatisfied people and losing their trust which is hurting our businesses badly. Even though I'm going with another company, I still have a reputation in my community that up til now was impeccable for customer service and timely shipments. People don't just think it's the company, they blame us as consultants. So, that's my biggest concern right now. And I know somebody, somewhere knows what's going on, but I just can't seem to find them.

I understand the complaints one of my hostesses won 5 tubs of sexy suds she never got them!! So luckily on my last order I ordered Petra Bubble bath and lotion and candle so I think what I'll do is give her all three just for her troubles. Like you I can't compromise my relationship with god to sell that kind of product. I have a feeling though that God will be opening a new door very soon.
