Do any of you do other "at home businesses" besides MB? I know of a couple who do things like Ultra Int. and MB, but I'm looking for other ways to expand my products, and possibly have two or three items to have for craft shows, etc. (i'm adventurous lol). Thank you in advance, and feel free to PM me with info if you would like!! I also have several friends who are stay at home moms, who are looking for ways to supplement their income, but are not interested in candles at this time, they are looking for something "fresh". (I'm still pushing the Mia Bella on them, dont worry!!)
Thank you in advance for responses!!

Shay

My goal is to build a team and be dedicated to helping them grow their own business.

For ME, the only way to do that is to commit to one business. I tried doing a couple of businesses and found my focus diluted. So I dropped everything else and am zone in on this one.

That's me and my personal experience. :)

I'm with you Jhanna! It's like the good ol' saying, you can't be two places at once! ( usually {{wink}} )

Some people do it successfully, however I'd prefer to focus all my energy in one spot, knowing one product line, training one team, growing with one company.

she also mentioned that she has some friends who are NOT interested in candles and are looking to work from home.

Hopefully she will find some good ideas from all the great businesses here :)

Ok, here is my experience with this.. I work more then one company. But I didn't startdoing more them one company until I established my first business they way I wanted it, my first business is focused on online retailing and that's it. Ifyour first starting out and depending on your goals with your business, It might be best to focus on 1 company, you don't want to get overwhelmed and then later on if you feel like you can handle it and depending on what your business goals are, then go for it. Good luck to you with what ever you decide to do.

That is great advice Teresa!

Personally, I can say that I am better equipped to work one business and one only.

I have tried, Lord knows I have but things pop up that tell me to stick with ONE.

Thanks Jen.. I know, It's not for everyone.. I do want to add one important thing though. What ever you decide to do, Stick with it, don't give up. It takes time, alot of time and consistency to build a business.

I should have mentioned (i did on the phone with Lori earlier, but didnt here)..I did not get in to MB to sell it. Its the only candle that doesnt make my oldest son go into an allergy fit and then burst into an asthma attack. What peaked my interest and made me ask this question in the first place, was the cello in a box post...I never knew there was anything out there like that, and now I've signed up as a rep for them...not to SELL their product directly, but to compliment and "pretty up" my MB business that I have decided to try to create!! I just figured it that was there, maybe there were other diversities as well.

I have a friend who just quit her job tobe a distributor for www.uppercaseliving.com (http://www.uppercaseliving.com) (cool stuff, kinda pricey...go check it out!!), and she is looking for something else to do instead bc she is already unhappy, but she is not interested in candles bc her sister is a PL rep. Shes the other reason I asked about other ideas..thank you ladies so much for the responses and PMs!!

I found it really hard to juggle more than one home-based business. I alsosell Avon, but I am very close to quitting it. I prefer to put my efforts into something that actually makes me money :) . I've tried other home business (home interiors for one) and have found mia bella to be the only one so far that has worked !!

All the experts will say find one and stick with it. I personally am part of several companies but find that I can't effectively build any of them when trying to build more than one at the same time. That's just me though. I know people who do successfully operate more than one home business at once, I'm just not one of them. If someone isn't interested in my business then I do not mind recommending one of my friends to them if they have what the person is searching for and have ended up with team partners by doing that. It never hurts to keep a list of friends in other businesses smileys/smiley4.gif

yes Julie, I too am with Send OutCards, just joined yesterday for that VERY reason..to compliment the MB business. I've already started creating some postcards to send for parties and fundraisers..MUCH cheaper to send too!!

I have been with many "businesses" for instance, Send Out Cards, I love the cards, but could not make any money from it; but I still am using it..
AmeriPlan, which didn't work out very well.
Several free sign up businesses that definately didn't work out!!
Then I found this company andI am staying!!! I love it!! First business that I am making on...!!!!

I also work another business, it is .ws websites. Basically all I do is hand out the information if anyone is interested in
1. a website (for $10 a month) or
2.making money at home.
For this the person can use the website for anything they want...to promote a business, for family pictures, etc. When the person sees what they are getting they sign up. simple, and has been profitable for me.
And then I do MB.
