Hi all!
I could use some help. I have decided to start my own candle business in January. I will be making my own candles and everything! I used to do this as a hobby a LONG time ago and decided to do it for business with my husband and in conjunction with my Arbonne Business.
Couple things I could use help with...

What kind of wax have you found to be the best to use?

What online store is the best and cheapest to purchase molds, wax, etc...?

can you help me come up with a name for my company?? or at least any good suggestions..... =)

Thanks everyone!
Krys

Congrats on the starting a new candle business... : )
There are alot of things that go into starting a new business and I wish you lots of fun (because I had a blast starting mine)
As for the name of your company.....here is what I did....I tried to look for a name that fit who I was, what I wanted to portray, etc....I would start there. I think it took me like 4 hours of brain storming for my business name, but I found one that complete suits me and the business.
As for the types of wax...that all depends on what you want to carry...there is soy, soy/parrafin, parafin, veggie wax, palm wax, beeswax, etc..... Soy is quite popular right now because of the healthy qualities it has and that it is made from USA soybean farmers.
Some places to look for supplies...
www.candlesupply.com (http://www.candlesupply.com)
www.aromahaven.com (http://www.aromahaven.com)
www.soapandscandlemolds.com (http://www.soapandscandlemolds.com)
Good Luck with your new business!

If you're located in the South, and if worse comes to worse (see my topic- In search of a new candle manufacturer, I might have to sell my candle business name and website. smileys/smiley6.gif

I was wondering if it is harder to have your own candle buisness as in making the candles, coming up with your own name etc, or harder starting a buisness with a candle company?I know that any buisness requires hard work and determination but I wonder if the challenges are different?smileys/smiley9.gif

Personally, I think it's comparing Oranges to Apples. Being a fine candle maker is a crafting gift and skill while Ecommerce (running an primarily Internet Business) takes a lot of knowledge, skill, and time to become established.
JMHO,
ETA: Sorry so short! I found two new candle makers and have been working a LOT lately and feel a tad "drain bamaged." smileys/smiley2.gif
