I learned a valuable lesson last night. I went to a home party last night, invited by my friend who was the hostess. I knew the hostess and her boyfriend, and had seen the people before but never officially met anyone else at the party before. The consultant said "I think I know everyone here" and went on with the party. She never met me ... I was a little offended by that. It made realize how sensitive I need to be sure I am to people at the parties I am presenting because what if I make a person feel the same way. I liked the products this gal had and would have booked a party but I don't want to book a party with her because she did not make me feel welcome at her party. I guess the lesson I learned is that I want to make sure that each and every one of the guests at the parties I rep for needs to feel welcomed and wanted at the party and if they feel welcomed they know that their friends will also want feel welcome at any party that I do as well. Do you know what I mean?

Great post! I try and make sure I greet every guest at the door and introduce myself and get their names. It's very important that each guest knows they are welcome!!

I went to a Stampin Up party in my new town I just moved to--my main purpose was to meet other women and the consultant didn't do introductions. I felt very awkward during most of the party! I did finally do my own introductions toward the end.

Great reminder.
I think sometimes people just don't think.

I am glad to remind us of this. And the funny thin is, I almost FORGOT to do this at my party yesterday! LOL... I had a party, there were 4 people there, two were past hostesses, one was the hostess (and the niece of my one hostess) and another girl. I ALMOST FORGOT TO HAVE HER INTRODUCE HERSELF!! But I remembered thank goodness! We had fun yesterday.

Great post! Another thing to remember is that just because you know a guest, doesn't mean all the rest of the guests know them! I've seen that happen at several parties that I have attended in the past. I hope I haven't fallen into either of these traps!
