Well, I went to that networking event last night. It was meant to be! As I was getting ready, I started to panic a bit because I just wasn't really sure how to answer the "what do you do? and where do you work?" questions. So I began giving that some thought. Low and behold, what did the keynote speak talk about? Telling people your story, the "what do you do" answer in brief and powerful ways. How appropriate!
They had a raffle there. Purchase tickets to benefit the Women's Fund in our area and a full couple tables full of prizes and baskets, etc. I thought the tickets were a little pricey, but decided I'd check out the prizes to see if anything really interested me. Well, I saw one of the offers and spent $20 on 7 tickets. 1 went into the Dinner Helpers award (you prepare meals to freeze then bring them home) and the other 6 went into another jar. This jar meant a lot to me! I wanted to put all 7 tickets into it, but I thought that might be a little too greedy smileys/smiley9.gifso I only put 6 in. AND I WON!!!!! I WON!!!!
I just won four one-on-one sessions with a business coach!!! How cool is that?!!
So I'd definitely say the night was a success. Thanks so much to everyone for helping me find the courage to go. Turns out I was perfectly comfortable and fit in just fine. I'll continue to go to other events they sponsor as well. Thank you!
