Hello Everyone,

I'm considering joining your wonderful company and am meeting with a consultant this coming Saturday in my area. I have tons of questions and am really impatient so thought I'd throw a few out there although I know she'll answer them all for me. I'm already a consultant with another totally unrelated company so I do understand a lot about the business end of things. I'd appreciate your honesty with a few questions I have.

1) What are shipping costs like to Canada for an average order? Is it based on weight or is there a flat shipping rate?

2) How long to get your order in Canada? I'm just asking because I left another company some time back due to outrageous shipping costs and times.

3) Do most of you make up your own websites? I've seen quite a few that aren't the standard one that the company gives you.

4) I understand you buy at wholesale.....so is your profit margin roughly 50%?

5) Do most of you do home parties? I'm trying to get away from being gone in the evenings so am hoping just to build a client base without the parties.

6) How do you do at craft shows? I have a few tables booked in Nov and Dec and am hoping to have a bit of stock built up by then.

7) Do you carry the most popular items as stock and just order the rest?

Thanks so much everyone!! I absolutely love candles but right now either buy Yankee Candles from a home store or the odd home plan. I can't see this being a hard thing to sell since everyone I know burns candles.

I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions come up but for now that would be awesome if you could help me out.

Happy Thanksgiving to any of the Canadian distributors!!

Hello Everyone,

I'm already a consultant with another totally unrelated company so I do understand a lot about the business end of things. I'd appreciate your honesty with a few questions I have.

1) What are shipping costs like to Canada for an average order? Is it based on weight or is there a flat shipping rate? The jars cost $9.50, and I pay around $14.50, and sell them for $26.00

2) How long to get your order in Canada? I'm just asking because I left another company some time back due to outrageous shipping costs and times. 3 weeks

3) Do most of you make up your own websites? I've seen quite a few that aren't the standard one that the company gives you. With the candle of the month program you get one for the company like this: www.tammytrigg.scent-team.com (http://www.tammytrigg.scent-team.com)

4) I understand you buy at wholesale.....so is your profit margin roughly 50%? Around 40% because of the shipping and taxes

5) Do most of you do home parties? I'm trying to get away from being gone in the evenings so am hoping just to build a client base without the parties. I have only done 1 since March of this year, and am bringing in at least $00.00 a month.

6) How do you do at craft shows? I have a few tables booked in Nov and Dec and am hoping to have a bit of stock built up by then. I LOVE CRAFT SHOWS!!!!

7) Do you carry the most popular items as stock and just order the rest? I hate having to order from parties and such, so I like to carry lots of stock!!!

Wow, those are great questions and even better answers! From what I understand, our Canadian distributors are doing pretty well.

Plus, as the company grows the service, as good as it currently is, will continue to get better and better. :)

I hope you decide to join, it's an AMAZING opportunity!

Tammy....Do you have any problem selling your candles at $26.00 (does that incl taxes) I sell them at fairs for $22 and 2 for $40 and still run into people finding them way to expensive. Normally i charge $21.95 plus taxes. Maybe it depends on were you are.. I usually get my order anywhere from 3 days to 10 days at the most.

Wow, your shipping times are GREAT!!! I am in Whitecourt Alberta, where are you at???
I do not seem to have many problems with the cost. Some people look shocked when I say "$26.00" but when I go on to the fact that they last over 100 hours and will fill your WHOLE house with the scent, they seem to be OK with it!!!

Wow....that is so fast!!! Is it $22 plus taxes? Just thinking if I do shows....if it would bea tough sell or not. You know how people don't like to spend a lot at a craft show.

Hi..I am in Ontario, Canada. so I'm closer to PA..so that's probably why it's alot quicker. It's $22 incl taxes at craft shows and fairs and home parties. I always mention the quality of the candle and burn time when they complain about the price. that actually worked quite a few times at a fair last weekend http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

I am lucky enough to have Tammi on my team here in Alberta.

I'm in a major city so shipping times are a bit faster for me - usually 12-15 days.

Tammi is selling our jars for the same price I am. $26 including tax - we only have gst in Alberta - no provincial tax. I do offer quantity discounts.

I haven't had a problem with the price at fairs. Like Tammi, I explain the burn times, the quality of the wax, and the scent throw. I also have an almost finished MB jar on my table, along witha couple other candles on my table that shows a comparison: one for price (a Y candle) and the other for the black. People are most impressed when they see how evenly our almost finished candle burned, plus how clean the jar is.

100+ hours only works out to $0.26 a hour. I mention that as well!

I hope that helps some.
