I've been looking around and asking about different businesses on this board fora month or soand settled on Silpada. Just wanted to introduce myself and find the other Silpada reps on here as well!
I had my first party Saturday and did pretty well...Made enough to pay back my initial investment and get quite a few pieces of jewelry FREE! Woohoo...gotta love that!
Anyway, "Hi" and I look forward togetting new ideasfrom many of you! & Maybe I'll come up with a few myself! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Thanks for the welcome! I stay at home and have 3 Kids (2, 6, 11) http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley29.gif, So hoping I can figure out how to make it work! Luckily I have teenage nephews in the neighborhood who can babysit! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
I had a question for those of you who have the little link in your siggy (like the last one above) that goes to a site with info about your biz (but without saying what it is, doesn't go directly to the SD website or whatever company your with)...Do you get lots of interested people from those? I was thinking of doing one but didn't want to take the extra time and money (assuming it cost money) if it didn't seem to make much difference?

I read that Silpada reps don't do presentations. how do reps get hosts if they don't do presentations? Do they offer prizes or play some type of game?

Thanks for the encourgement. But how do people who do home parties get more hostesses if they don't do a presentation. I went to a Lia sophia party where they did a presentation and game and it encouraged future bookings. how are future bookings possible without this?

I would think that the Silpada reps make sure to talk about the benefits of hosting their own party with the people attending the party as well as making sure to take the time to talk about the opportunity as well. Maybe by presentation they mean something with the jewelry but they still do a talk for a few minutes on how to place orders, trying on the jewelry, the opportunity and the hostess benefits? That's the only things I can figure that they do.

Hi Stacey...it's actually pretty easy. There are several ways to entice the guests to book.
When everyone is around the table looking at the jewelry, I might say to the hostess, " so Becky (hostess) are any of my sample pieces the ones that you will be choosing for your FREE pieces? If she says yes, then I'll have her put them on and talk about them for a minute or two. Thsi will get the guests to think about what they would want for FREE.
When showing my guests how to fill out the order form (again around the jewelry), I'll mention the shipping cost and how it is sent directly to the customer, making it even easier for the hostess because she has no deliveries to make.
These are just a couple of ways...also you'll want to make sure to ASK everyone when you check them out. I think there are many who like the no presentation and will book just because of that!Edited by: LuvMyJewelry

Welcome to SD!! I've been with them for 5 years and LOVE it!!
It is SO EASY to get bookings. Women want to book BECAUSE we don't do presentations. They love the laid back atmosphere, no pressure, open house style kind of parties!! That's one thing that drew me to selling SD.
Just like Cheryl says, you ask everyone. Don't prejudge and just simply have fun at the shows.

Do you think? I wasn't sure if this would be a good time as people can get so busy around the holidays and may not want to have parties? Or their friends too busy to come? I figured it's agood time for getting a booth atFall and Holiday festivals and such but don't know how profitable those are?
As far as no presentation at parties thing...my party was simply open house style come and go as you can and as people asked questions weanswered them, and as people asked about having a party we told them about getting free jewelry and there are brochures and such on the table and a sign up sheet with open dates if anyones interested...even still I had 2 people wanting to book parties? So I don't know, I guess everyone has a preference of the kind of party they like inviting their friends too? Some like the games/presentation and will book because of that, some don't and will book because of that!
