Hello,
I am interested in mystery shopping. I have been going through these posts and they are helpful, however, I do have a question.

I want to become "certified", but I've never done a shop. Is there anything that I need to know before I just log on to the MSPA website and take the test? What should I expect? Any advice will be most helpful.

Thank you in advance for any help. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Read the "lessons" well or print them up so you can look at them again.

To me (as an experienced mystery shopper) the test was almost more about reading comprehension than mystery shopping itself. I mean...yes...it was about mystery shopping...but I felt it should have been harder...

P.S. I don't pay to mystery shop - like registration fees or something - but I did pay to do the silver certification. I know of too many schedulers and companies that do show priority to silver-certified shoppers to not do it.

I did several mystery shops before I went for my certification. As Peggy said, it probably should have been harder.

They do have a gold certification, but that is only available to people who have the silver certification. It is held at various vues during the year and I believe it's $99. I haven't taken it (money issues) but my girlfriend did. It is an all day thing, but apparently there are different companies that do show up.

I say go for it....

Thank the both of you very much for responding! <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I've decided to start out very slow. I want to get my feet wet before diving in. I have one shop set up for this coming week and one for the following. Once I start getting a feel for it, then will I start taking more shops and take the test.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you keep everything organized and flowing smooth?

Right, now I have a folder for each of the companies that I've signed up shop for. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks again!!

You might want to have a calendar just for your mystery shopping to write down your assignments. Consider keeping copies of all of your paperwork until you get paid - that includes copies of receipts.

Best of luck to you!
