My advice is to check with your local government office where you would obtain yours. When I previously owned an online scrapbook business, I was told I did not need one. I am not running a retail establishment where I have customers coming to my house & such. Having the occasional home party does not require it where I live either.
Again, better safe than sorry. Check with your local authorities.

I would suggest asking your local tax advisor or accountant

I have never heard of anything like that, I didn't even know stuff like that existed. Clearly my upline never mentioned it to me, or the dozens of other home based direct selling friends of mine don't know about them either. Because every party I have been to they have shared the opportunity, and I looked into a couple of them, and they never mentioned needing a business liscense?? I don't even know what that is or who you would have to ask. Maybe I should find out?!

I have my license and I believe is good to have one, be in the safe side.
It doesn't cost much from $0 to 10 ... and you can have a lot of tax deductionssmileys/smiley36.gifEdited by: Amherst

perhaps you should contact Arbonne to see what they say?

Harmony-If you were not sure that they were giving you the correct answer, maybe you could call & ask someone else in that office? I was told here that it was optional, not necessary. Isn't it odd that these things differ state to state? Perhaps there is a section that direct sales falls under?
At best, I agree w/Jennifer, call and see if someone at Arbonne can give you some insight. Please share what you find out.
