So I have this thing about websites. </span>I have gone to some websites of companies
represented here and thought – awful, tacky, unpleasing to the eye, not
user-friendly. </span>
Now, I happen to be
married to a website designer and know many of the do’s and don’t’s. </span>So, to see a bad one (I mean really bad) is a
total turnoff. </span>A company should make
some investment in their website because it is their www – worldwide brand/image. </span>Even a start up company with little $$/resources can have a basic,
clean site. </span>Harsh? </span>Well, I know consumers in general can be a
fickle bunch. And </span>I also know consultants may
not have a choice if they want a website.
Having said that, I know there are those out there (people
and companies) who are not tech-savvy and don’t really care what a website
looks like. </span>As long as users can get the
info or place their order. </span>
Curious as to your thoughts/perceptions?

I have heard from many how great our website is and easy to navigate also... I agree with you ~ it def. makes an impression on me as to what the company is like by the presentation of the website.

I love the look of our website! I do believe a beautiful catalog or website say a lot to the consumer about the products they are buying from you. It's like the difference of going to a trade show and throwing your stuff on the table or dressing it up nicely. First impressions count.
I'm not very tech savy personaly so I don't knowanything about designing a web site, what it takes or how much it costs. I don't even pay for my website- it's free.Sensaria isrecognized as the premier direct sales company of naturally-based spa products and I think our branding from product packaging, to our catalogs, flyers and our website reflect that.
For those who are not provided a nicer website, I don't know what I'd do in that situation.???

I agree that a professional looking website makes an impact. I feel the same way about products. I like products that are very professionally packaged and/or presented.

Well, with my country gourmet food mixes, the site I have from Country Gourmet Home is definitely within keeping with the "homey, warm, country" feel of the products - so it works.
My Youngevity site is really top-notch, state-of-the art. I'm very impressed with it. It exudes professionalism!
So it depends a lot on your product line, and what you're trying to convey. For me, both my sites fit the bill! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif

I agree with you...a bad wesite is such a turn off and I've seen a few. I went to check out a friends new jewelry website and they way the company designed it made me feel like I was shopping for cheaply made jewelry...I wouldn't even look twice at it.
How nice to be married to a web designer...http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gifI am not tech-savvy at all, but just put together a simple wedsite to advertise my jewelry business, since we can not advertise our company website online...it was a little trying, but I got the basics done. I'll work on it as I go.

I totally agree about websites..nothing bothers me more than to go on a website and have it be so confusing..or links aren't working..I usually just back out and not bother with it. Luckily with the company I am with, the websites are beautifully created and user friendly.
