After hearing Shad Helmstetter speak at ACTNow, I knew I had to read this book. I would recommend it to anyone & everyone who has a brain. It can change your life!! Actually, it allows you to change your life in ways you probably haven't even dared to dream!! If you don't have the money right now to purchase it, pick it up at the library. I get as many things from the library as possible to make sure it is something I want to invest my $$ in. I used to buy a lot of books but most ended up in my next garage sale.

Back to the book...the things we tell (or believe) ourselves are what we are programming our mind to make happen. We build these walls without realizing it and our minds have no choice (or other programming) to dispute what we conciously or subconciously program into our mind. He wrote it in such a way we are able to understand how & why we think the way we do and thengoes into detail about the steps to take to reprogram yourself. All I can say is WOW! I can already feel the weight of much of my previous self talk falling away and I am not even finished reading the book. Unbelievable!!

SO funny, I am reading that book RIGHT NOW! I was just curled up on my couch with my 4 year old on my lap, she is watching cartoons and I am reading that book! I ordered it from the library the day I got home from ACT!!! I was really impressed with him after hearing him. The copy I have is very old, from the library, and he is young with a full beard in the author picture, it cracked me up!

But I agree. The book is very good, and I was one of those who didn't think I had a problem with self image, etc. But I have negative patterns where I have just accepted "that is the way I am" and I can and will change them. I can't wait to read The Gift, as well.

I have to try to keep the Saturday night live Stuart Smalley image out of my brain: "I'm good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, people like me" mantra...

Shad Helmstetter has a newer book out called Who Are You Really and What Do You Want? It is really good!I borrowed it from the library and was so impressed that I bought a copy. My daughter, who is also an Arbonne consultant, is currently reading it. This is the write up from his website www.firedup.com (http://www.firedup.com/).

How we talk to ourselves is so vitally important.
Often we are our own worse enemy.
