Besides Victorian Rose votives....what would be a GREAT scent for votive roses?

I tried the Clean Cotton with Yellow Petals that have fake "dew" on the petals and I sold them like CRAZY!

I also made roses out of "velvet" roses from Michaels. They are a deep red/with hints of green in the velvet. Totally beautiful, but I used the Freesia votives, which made the candles visually overpower the color of the velvet petals.

Any ideas? Edited by: abbysmom

I know it sounds strange, but I used Sweet orange and chili pepper because they are such a pretty brightcolor. I used roses with pink and yellow over tones and they turned out beautiful. I know it is not a "floral" scent but they are my personal favorite.I think it still worked because it was citrus and fresh scent.

Velvet roses sound awesome - I bet they make an impression. Almost any scentcould work forthese.

Wow ya'll actually design the votive roses. I just do all of our scents. LOL smileys/smiley36.gifI do make them visually pleasing but to be honest I don't really stick to ONLY flower scents.

Ditto Dinika,

I have done strawberry kiwi, sweet orange and chili pepper, honeysuckle, heart of the ocean, pear berry, magnolia. I think its about the eye appeal. I love the smell of so many of our candles, why limit yourself to the flowerly scents! lol

Whew...just spent my lunch hour at Michaels......again!

They have the display of Candle Warmers there and a lady was asking the employee if they have soy candles. I didn't want to step on the employees toes so I listened (slap on the hand...bad girl!) and the employee said: "yes we have soy candles in these jars...".

The lady also asked if they have Candle Warmers....the employee said: "Yes" and picked one out for the lady.

Well, I stepped in. I politely told her: "you don't want to put a soyjar candle on a candle warmer becuase the heat building from the bottom of the jar will build pressure and the jar will either crack or explode".

Theemployee said she had NO KNOWLEDGE of that ever happening. But the lady didn't want to take any chances so she decided not to buy the warmer.

So I was the customer behind her at the check out stand. I noticed she parked two cars away from mine. I introduced myself and gave her my brochures along with 3 scent samples and a picture of my votive roses and she is INTERESTED in my roses!

So I feel good today! I got more flowers for my roses...AND...helped that lady avoid a potential disaster...AND...have a new customer!
