ok, I'm new (actually trying to sign up now) but my Husband, and me somewhat...are a little worried about the business first, then product concept...

I totally understand it is the way to move up...but he feels it is "pyramid-ish"....I know it is not really, but has the feel that you are not there really to sell and show friends products to improve themselves, but to get them on-board....

did anyone else worry about this...one of the greatest things about Arbonne has been the great reputation of the products...it seems the products are getting lost for the sake of more money faster ....

please let me know what you think...my Husband is really thinking about having me back out of Arbonne...I need some advise...

Thanks!

You decide how you want to do your business. The business first idea is to show people up front that there is great potential for extra income, but you are always promoting product. Selling product is what brings income in! And the product is so great, it pretty much sells itself! If your goal is to be RVP in 6 months, then yes, your goal is to find business builders to help sell more product. But by asking friends, family, and referrals if they want to be a wholesale buyer is a win/win situation. You are getting them these great products that will improve their skin and health at the cheapest price possible, and you are still earning commission. So, you are not taking $$ from them that could stay in their pocket. You are getting $$ from Arbonne directly.

You don't sound like the "pushy" tpye and I am sure your friends will see your true love for the product. I personally did not ask my friends to jump on board and sell Arbonne w/ me. I wanted them to use the great products and decide for themselves based on their opinion of the products. Now, after several months, I have a few friends coming to me and asking me about the business opportunity b/c they think the product is so great! So, even if you do decide to lead w/ the business first, just think of it as showing people a way to redirect the money they are already spending on personal care products to a pure, safe, and beneficial product line that they can get at a wholesale price!

It just depends on your personal goals. That is what is great about Arbonne - you can fit it to your lifestyle. No matter what, you couldn't succeed in business very long if you didn't have a superior product! Many people just get so excited that Arbonne can be a vehicle to drive you out of trading time for money at a JOB, they want to share the business end! It's amazing to me the people that see the big picture and are actually changing their lives via Arbonne! Have you guys read the 45 second presentation? That is a good explaination of network marketing - which is how Arbonne works - definetly NOT a pyramid. Also, see if the person you are signing under has the Arbonne cd by Robert Kiasaki - it is very good for explaining what we do. Good luck!

My husband was very negative about it, we actually had a few fights over it, but I was determined(and stubborn). He also told me it was a pyramid but one year later as I am finishing off RVP he has definately changed his tune. He told me that only the people on the top make money but guess what, I started on the bottom last November and I am almost at the top! You have to start somewhere. He also told me people would not pay for these expensive products...he was wrong again. Not not I rub his face in it or anything(haha), you have to follow your heart. I went into it saying I wouldn't quit till I got to the "beach" no matter what happened.

Learn the truth here.

Q: Some friends continue to try to recruit me into network marketing deals that seem like some type of money game or pyramid. Other friends tell me they're illegal and I'll get into trouble. How do I know what's legal and legitimate?

A: To help you understand what network marketing is, I must first explain what it isn't. First, network marketing isn't a pyramid scheme. Pyramids are programs similar to chain letters where people just invest money (http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/0,4621,285135,00.html#) based on the promise that other people will put in money that will filtrate back to them and somehow, they'll get rich. A pyramid is strictly a money game and has no basis in real commerce. Normally, there's no product involved at all, just money changing hands. Modern-day pyramids may have a product, but it's clearly there just to disguise the money game.

Network marketing is a legitimate business. First, it's based on providing people with real, legitimate products they need and want at a fair price. While some people do make a lot of money through network marketing, their financial benefit is always the result of their own dedicated efforts in building an organization that sells real products and services.

Pyramids are illegal and are based on taking advantage of people. For a person to actually make money in a pyramid scheme, someone else has to lose money. But in network marketing, each person can multiply his or her efforts, skills and talents by helping others be successful. Network marketing has proved itself as part of the new economy and a preferred way to do business here and around the world.

Network marketing isn't about taking advantage of your friends and relatives. Only a few years ago, network marketing meant retailing to, and sponsoring people from, your "warm list" of prospects. Although sharing the products or services and the opportunity with people you know is still the basic foundation of the business, today we see more people using sophisticated marketing techniques (http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/0,4621,285135,00.html#) such as the Internet, conference calling and other long-distance sponsoring techniques to extend their network across the country.

Network marketing isn't a get-rich-quick scheme. Of course some people do make large amounts of money very quickly. Many would say those people are lucky. But success in networking isn't based on luck. (Unfortunately, money won't sprout wings and fly into your bank account no matter what someone has promised you.) Success in network marketing is based on following some very basic yet dynamic principles.

Now let's discuss what network marketing is. Network marketing is a serious business for serious people. It's a proven system where the design, creation and expense the corporate team has gone through becomes a road map for your own success. Just follow the simple, proven and duplicable system that the good companies provide.

The real key is this: Network marketing is all about leverage. You can leverage your time and increase the number of hours of work effort on which you can be paid by sponsoring other people and earning a small income on their efforts. J. Paul Getty, who created one of the world's greatest fortunes, said "I would rather make 1 percent on the efforts of 100 people than 100 percent on my own efforts." This very basic concept is the cornerstone of network marketing.

For example, most successful people building a network marketing business do so in an organized method. They work a few dedicated hours each week, with each hour of effort serving as a building block for their long-term business growth. Then they sponsor other people and teach those people how to sell the company product and sponsor others who duplicate the process.

By helping the people you personally sponsor to sponsor others, you duplicate yourself. As this process continues, you create compound growth that can lead to hundreds or even thousands of people coming into your business. You leverage your time by helping others be successful and earn an income from all their efforts. With network marketing, there are no big capital requirements, no geographical limitations, no minimum quotas required and no special education or skills needed. Network marketing is a low-overhead, homebased business that can actually offer many of the tax advantages associated with owning your own business. Network marketing is a people-to-people business that can significantly expand your circle of friends

All fantastic explanations.

Remember, for ANYONE to be successful in arbonne product MUST be moving. So whether you bring up the business first or the product first it doesn't matter, product moves.

Our goal is to introduce these amazing products to as many people as we can. If they sign up they will end up using more product b/c they get a discount. It's natural. Why wouldn't we want people to get the best deal possible & end up buying more of the product lines? Maybe someone who would've just bought the RE9 set will now be able to buy that & the shampoo & some vitamins because they saved that 35%. So, see it all comes back to the products.

Also, lets look at 2 consultants who start the business at the same time. They both work jobs & canwork Arbonne 10 hours a week.Jo doesn't want to share the business with other people. She is just about the product. And if she finds someone who wants to sell then great but she really wants to focus on selling product herself. Then we have Sue. Sue loves the product & wants to introduce the product as well to people but she also wants to share the business.

So they both do their thing. Jo is introducing the product to as many people as she can meet with the time she has.Sue is also but she found 3 people who wanted to do the same so not only is Sue introducing product/business 10 hours a weekbut so are her 3 partners. So she ends up having people out introducing product & business 40 hours a week while Jo still only is doing it the 10 hours. Who do you think moves more product?

Like someone said, read the 45 second book. Have him go to some training with you to understand. Have him talk with your upline. Whatever he needs to do in order to understand that no matter which way you go, it all comes down the moving the product.

My upline does the opposite. We have the "Let's go shopping!" philosophy and focus on building a network of wholesale shoppers. The Arbonne products sell themselves. Never forget about the products!

Explain to me the concept of why you want a network of wholesale shoppers. My upline uses this method as well and I have implemented it and have some wholesale buyers, but I'm still not quite sure why this is the best way.

Karen, have you read the 45 second book? It will help you to understand.

You want a network of consumers, be they WB or BB, because of what I explained up thread. You reach more people with the "Let's Go Shopping" method because of the power of multiplication. Also, it is more likely that you will find more BB because no one wants to sell but everyone wants to shop at a discount & tell their friends about it. People can shop for most everything they need with Arbonne instead of going out to several different stores for it all. They can also get a discount. And they can rest assured that they are getting healthy products for their family. What's not to like? Then if they build a business on top of that they can make extra $$ doing what they are already doing anyway...cool!

If you are wondering the benefits of having a WB instead of a client b/c you give up your 35% commission it's in the big picture. WB are more likely to buy more products because of their discount. A lot will end up tryingproducts they wouldn't have tried at retail. They tend to be more loyal as far as repeat sales. They can order for themselves so they don't need you to dothat for them. And, since they are signed up under you, their sale is always linked to you...no matter where they are. They might move across the country from you but you'll still benefit from their purchases. If they are just a client & move then they probably won't keep coming back to you. And remember, a lot of WB end up becoming business builders. You don't know what they'll want to do with itin the future!

My upline RVP built her business on wholesale buyers- she has a big
team NOW, but not always. I think her wholesale business accounts
for $10k-$12k a month! This is after 8 years of course... but it
can happen.

I am finding that although I always lead with the business, I need to find more people who just buy the products. I've just started promoting specials to those who enjoyed the products but weren't ready to start their own business at this time.

Does anyone have suggestions about which kinds of specials have been successful for you or your teams in the past? The new cellulite system is really getting me a lot of referrals. I bought a set for myself and love it, so bought a set and gave it to a girl I work with who is a real "decision maker" in my office. I told her just to try it for the weekend and if she didn't like it, she could give it back to me. She came in absolutely glowing on Monday and asked me how she could buy it. I had offered it to her at my cost plus I added in a free bronzer that I got in my last $100 for $20 purchase. So she got $113 of products for $55.25 + tax. She told a group of her friends about it, and they all did the same. It has been a great volume builder, especially during end-of-month qualifying!

I tell everyone about signing up for the discount. I let them know it is a consultant's account but you do not have to take on the role of consultant per se (building a biz, $100 retail order per mo.etc.) but you reap the benefits of the consultant in that you receive a free product with a $100 order in the start month and you can also pick up $100 for $20 if the order is $250 or more at any time. This has helped boost volume for me. If someone were placing a $50 or more order, in most cases they will easily be able to bump it up to $100 to recive their own account entitling them to the35% discount for 1 year& a free product. Sometimes they are so excited about the $100 for $20, they will pick up a few orders from friends or families to get them there.

There are so many ways to work this biz, it is wonderful!!
