I am with lia sophia jewelry. I have not been with them for a year yet, but so far they HAVE NOT taken out any taxes from my checks. That would lead me to believe that I will have to take care of the tax stuff myself. If you have any questions about the company, doing business, the jewelry or what ever, just give me a yell and I would be very happy to help you out!
BTW, I love this company, and I have had terrific success with them so far!

Lia Sophia takes care of the sales tax if that is what you mean. :) There are a few jewlery companies that take care of the sales tax for you. smileys/smiley1.gif
I just talked to a gal with Sarah Coventry and their rep program looks very good. I can give you her info.

Hi Doreen,
I'm with Premier Designs. They take care of our sales tax for us, but we handle our own income taxes since we are Independent Distributors.
I have been very pleased with Premier Designs. The owners are awesome and the trainings are everywhere! It's such a great support system.
If you have any questions about Premier, feel free to PM me or email me at: thekavas@bellsouth.net
Good luck in your decision!

Doreen,
DEFINITELY check out several different plans. Everyone is different and what feels right for one, may not for another.
You can start with Premier for $0 down - ask your jewelry lady about that. I'm sure she'll go over it with you anyway because it's an awesome deal. Depending on how much you want to work - most can pay off their initial investment in 8-10 shows. If you only want to do 1 show a month, it will take you longer than if you do 3-4 shows a month. My "mama" in the business paid off hers in 2 shows - it took me closer to 8. The really cool thing is that at the training show, you get the commission, the free jewelry and the bookings! And you don't work the show - your mom in the business does it for you. smileys/smiley20.gif It's a big help to get started! I also recommend the Quick Start - you do 6 shows in 45 days and the home office gives you $200 in free jewelry.
Be sure to ask lots of questions and be informed - which it sounds like you are already doing. Take your time and really follow your passion. You'll have the most success with the plan you are passionate about and believe in.
I know you have a consultant, but if you have any questions, you are welcome to email me as well. If you decide to sign, you'll be in her downline, but Premier is a big family - I would be happy to help you in any way I can, too!

Doreen,
It depends on what you want to do. I am with Bangles, Baubles & Beads. We are a jewelry company that holds parties, but the only diffrence is that we make the jewelry at the party and your guest take there items home with them. Let me know if you would like anymore information. Good luck.

Yes,some of myfriends and most of my family have not been supportive. I decided to get out of my circle right away. I have had great success in doing expos and vendor shows. In my area there is not a lot of reps doing what I do, so I have a lot of interest. I am not sure what you mean by the amount of parties.

Doreen,
Your family showing concern for you is natural, and well-intended. I can
only speak with regard to my Lia Sophia business when I say that the
investment of only $99 is a truly small investment. I have been in other
party plans before, and I can honestly say that never before has one taken
off so well as my Lia Sophia business. Women love jewelry, and when
they see the host benefits, they are SO willing to have a show...just to get
the free and discounted jewelry. My most recent hostess will receive
$589 in jewelry for $105. She has ordered five or six Christmas gifts, and
has lots left for herself as well. The quality of the jewelry and Lifetime
Replacement Guarantee was the clincher for me deciding on Lia Sophia.
Best of business to you,
Nondy

Doreen,
I have to agree with Ann Marie go with your passions. I was lucky to have a supportive family and group of friends, but after 1 1/2 years with The Glass Bracelet, I have a great client base outside of my family. There is only 3 reps in my area so I get alot of interest too. I have 15 shows lined up before xmas! Your business is what you make it. Work hard and your business will grow!

I can second the support of lia sophia! We moved to the Allentown area 4 years ago, so I don't have a family base to draw upon, and we don't really know a lot of people. My husband was very skeptical, and my mother just though I was crazy! However, dispite what would seem like a lot of negative factors, my business has take off like you would not believe! I have no problem booking shows, and people in this area just seem to love this product! I am very fortunate, and now even DH has taken an interest. I love what I do, the people Imeet and the warm reception I get to the product and the guarantee.

Hi Doreen,
I too researched many jewelry companies. I really like jewelry and I think that it is something most people like to purchase.I had a some criteria for choosing a company.
Price of the product was a big factor. I wanted quality products without a big price tag. I think people have more fun buying if they can afford several items and will attend home shows if the prices aren't intimidating.Other criteria included the cost to join, the precentage of sales I keep, the costs of supplies, and how much stuff I would have to haul around.
Like I said, I did my research. I decided to go with Charmed Moments. One of the main reasons for my choice was that the jewelry had meaning behind it and the ground floor opportunity. Most people choose pieces (charms) that have a special meaning in their lives.I think this makes the sales more fun and interesting.
If you would like details just let me know.
