Ladies - I love this forum, and I think it is a huge support system. I am a little concerned that lately there seem to be a lot of us (me included) using it as a sounding board to vent. I would really like to see this trend be turned around, and have this go back to the way it was...a support group where we encourage, motivate, inspire and educate each other!

So, this is just my suggestion on what we can ALL do to accomplish this.

Before you post, ask yourself if you are contributing to the board in a positive way. Are you giving back to the board? Are you helping someone with your post? Are you being a good example? Are you saying something you would want to read for encouragement? ...Or are you dragging yourself or someone else down with your post? Are you taking postive energy from the board?

I think that will make a big difference. I would really like to see this board be an inspiration again! I love seeing the GOOD news people have about their spas. I love seeing what's WORKING for people. I love hearing about how EXCITED you are to be a part of our company, and to SHARE it with others!

Go out and make today great! Remember, it's YOUR time with BeautiControl.

I have been thinking the same thing lately, I mean, it's okay to blow off steam, but learn from what has happened and take action to change things. i am going to give two more cents before taking my leave from the board. I agree with Marie. Personally I do not feel like I am improving my business or myself by reading negative posts and complaints.

I do understand the need to vent and my idea would be for everyone to find a buddy or two on the board that you can vent about your BeautiControl business to, through pms and emails. For example - you had really low sales at your last spa - so you email your buddy and tell her the whole story about your spas and poor sales. And then on the board, you could simply ask for others to share how they increase their sales at their spas - you would simply be asking for others to share their advice and successes, without venting to the whole board.

THANK YOU SO MUCH LADIES, I agree 100%. Staying positive and keeping our posting positive will keep us all motivated and in the right frame of mind! Face it, reading negative postings brings you down even if it's someone else's post. Have you read the "Secret"? It's awesome!! I know several us you have seenthe dvd, but reading the book is another story! I love my book and pick it up daily and read a page out of it. I love this board and all the women here are amazing! Alyssa thank you for stepping up and having us all take notice.

I have been so busy lately and haven't had time to sit and read the board but I do see a difference in the tone. However the positive energy is still there and trying to break through! This board is a wealth of information for those of us that have been in BC awhile as well as all the new consultants. Don't forget if you are trying to take a leadership role that your new recruits may be reading your post and even though you may be just venting you may also be sabotaging yourself in your role as a leader of your team. Noone wants to see their mentor "griping". I think it is a great idea to ask ourselves the questions which Marie mentioned, before we post!

This is so sad! I have tried to convey this message many times. Venting, complaining or whatever you want to call it is one of the reasons I don't post here. It is painful to even read! Think about people who lurk or are still thinking about the opportunity when you title your posts!

This board has turned negative just like it was when I found it 2+ years ago. Until it improves, I will not be back either.

I have decided to put more energy into my candle business because this board has helped me feel negative about working so hard at BC.

You never know who you are inspiring or discouraging by your posts. Think before you post!

I agree, and I don't know if it would make anyone feel better, but have you been to BeautiNet lately?

Under recruiting and events there is a place for the NYC trip. It says first 50 trip earners....
There aren't even 20 people on there yet!!

So, if you think you're not doing fantastic it seems like it is not just us!!

I just did a training with a really awesome person in BC. She has had a spa EVERY weekday since the beginning of the promotion (no joke). She has now had 28 spas, and even SHE has not earned the trip yet!

Don't get down! Get busy!!! Just because you get a few "no's" doesn't mean you should give up.

Think of it this way...
You are your business. You don't have to pay a lease or rent. You don't have to pay any vendors. You don't even have to drive to open up your shop every day.

You choose how many days your "store" will be open.

You decide who your clients will be.

You make up your own mind about who you will and won't talk to today about your business.

We are in the business of improving women's lives, and we need to think that way EVERY day!

If you worked at Bed, Bath and Beyond, would you be embarrassed to tell people what you do?

We have a PHENOMENAL opportunity to reach people through our AWESOME products. We need to make the most of every day.
