Hello Ladies,
Just letting you know that I am taking a break for a little while from the board for at least 3 or weeks, though i will probably still occasionally read the posts. Since I am in charge of the website, I didn't want to just disappear without leaving a message.
The board seems to be getting more and more negative and it isn't helping me to try and stay positive about my business. I understand the need to vent sometimes, but it seems like a lot of posts are about people complaining about something, which leads to others complaining and feeling negative, including myself sometimes.

This isn't about any specific person, I think you are all fabulous women, but there isn't a day that goes back that there aren't complaints about people's clients/recruiters/shipping issues/the products/the spas, etc.
I think BeautiControl is a fabulous company and they do give us the opportunity to lead the life we love. And although sometimes you have just bad luck or a slump, for the most part I think that with this business you are only as successful as you try to be ( i know there are a few exceptions and sometimes extreme hardships that interfere - i am not criticizing anyone, this is just my philosophy).
When I am honest with myself, I know that for the most part it is not outside sources causing me not to succeed, It is mostly things that I do have control over. I know could be more successful if I could get over the fear of talking to others - calling businesses, sharing with strangers, offering every guest the opportunity, etc. And although this board is a great source of ideas, sometimes I spend
more time reading this board then actually working on my business. I know these are my personal challenges, and it will be my fault if I don't succeed. Sorry for rambling for so long.

If you want files on the website, you can continue to send them to me by email and I will try to do updates on it once per week.

I personally feel that the more negativeone is, the more negative things that come to one (anywhere here read The Secret?). If you maintain a positive attitude, good things WILL come your way! I try to be positive and share the good things on the board, but sometimes I do feel the need to vent. And that's ok! But I DO think that positive energy is much better for the board. It is inspiring, motivating, and makes me feel ready to go out and succeed!

I hope running the new website hasn't taken too much out of you and taken you away from your BC business. Maybe if we ALL make it a personal goal to be a positive influence and primarily make all of our posts positive and upbuilding (I know sometimes we all get down and need someone to help pick us back up) then no one will feel like they have to get away from the message board for a while.

Sorry to see you taking a time out. I think this is a very positive, warm and supportive group. If you think about it - it is one of the few places you can speak your mind good or bad and those on it will totally understand because they have walked in your shoes.

To me there is nothing wrong with venting because you have to get rid of the stress that pops up sometimes. Listening and offeringencouragement to each otherare great. I think that is how we support each other and really show we care.

It is also the people who find a problem, vent, and then go about changing it who ultimately make things better for the rest of us.

I don't blame you from stepping back. It is hard to do when you care so much, but I have found that it is so necessary to do.

Alyssa, I had to do the same thing, awhile back. I felt as though I was giving everyone so much of my time and information-which i love to share- that I was not spending enough time with my own team. I was told at Leadership, by a fellow poster, that message boards can really eat up your time and hurt your business. I too need to step back a little and work with my team! I just get so tempted to help everyone! At one time I was only reading and then a month or so ago, i started posting again, and I seem to be on here way too much! I am going to take the advise I was given a few months ago and work more with my team of ladies who need me, I will check in once in awhile and will read thru my pm's, but for now I really need to work on my team and give them 110%!

Mybe he key is we needto all read the board once or twice a day and if we want to respond then we do and the rest of the time we devote to our teams or business and family. I am fairly new and find mself getting excited about all of the info Ihave gotten on here but not acting with much of it. I know this is easier said than done, but weall have lives outside of the board and our businesses will help us lie those lives more comfortably as long as we are working it. SO with tat said I am gonna make an effort to only get on the forum a fw times a day/

Sorry to see you go. We sure are going to miss you.Come back soon. But, I do understand where you are coming from and what you are saying about what's been going on here. Much more complaining or vent than when I started watching this board and started posting.

I so understand that you need a break. You have invested so much into your business and into this board. It will be good to step back for awhile.

I also so understand the discouragement some are feeling. But has been mentioned often on this board...that is the nature of direct selling. It has it's ups and downs. Some of the downs are out of our control...the time just isn't right most of the time...summer, school startiing, the people we are showingour dream just can't see it because of the lows in their lives. We just need to keep our eye on the goal and keep working towards it.

This is something we have to do for ourselves, no one can do it for us. In the end it is us that determines whether or not we succeed. But we have a dream and even though I won't be a diq come October...I still am a dreamgirl!

All of that to say....You have a dream...and once a spagirl...always a spagirl! Hope all of that made sense! Looking forward to your return.

I totally understand too...as my former director used to tell me, we all need a break even if it is from BC...how can me tell others to do this and not do it ourselves? Every week I take one day and do no BC not even think about it.Can't burn ourselves out.
I have had to limit my time on this message board recently too. I now just visit it a couple of times and spend a few minutes after dinner...moderation is key. Anyway, we'll miss you and your inspirational posts.
