I think I am creating a blog (my own website with pix of my daughter and little stories) so that family and friends can see how my daughter is growing. I am using frontpage and the webspace is provided for free along with my email account.

Anyway, I have a propensity to like nonstandard fonts. I think I've downloaded them from font.com. Anyway, when I upload those fonts onto my site, I noticed that they come through on the computer where I downloaded and installed the font but not on my work computer or anyone else's computer. I assume this is because they don't have that font installed?

If so, how can I get one of my non-standard fonts to show up on someone else's computer without having to install the font on each user's computer? I know I see non-standard fonts on other's websites so it must be possible but how??

Thanks!!

You'll have to create graphic images with them instead. Otherwise, it just doesn't work.

Do you have any type of graphics software?

Yep! I have Paint Shop Pro. Do you have any general instructions on how to create a graphic of the font? Thanks so much!!!

You'll have to create an image the same size as the area you want to cover on your webpage, then type your text on that, save the image, and upload in place of where your text would go on the site.

You can see one that I did on a WIP site at http://test.lathamwebsolutions.com (http://test.lathamwebsolutions.com)

The text on the right column is an image.

There is something used by advanced designers called CSS (cascade style sheet) which will allow for your specific font to show...but the ladies have the easiest way to go suggested above if you are just starting out.

Good luck to you :)

CSS will still only work if the viewer has that font on their system, without making an image of it there just isn't a way to have a font show on someones computer if it isn't installed on their system.
