Hey everyone!

I have two shows this week and I am desperate to FILL my November and December calendars.

Do any of you have any tricks you use that will *guarantee* booking? http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Okay - I know you can't guarantee them, but I would love to hear some ideas from other companies.

Oh - I've been "stacking the hostess". It seems to work well! Any other great ideas?

Sorry, can't help you, but would love to hear the answers to this!!!

Also, what is Stacking the hostess?

Stacking the hostess works well. I usually do 'Pass or Play' which is similar to the envelope game. I also do a drawing for something really nice. When 3 people book a show, I'll put their names in the drawing for the item. When 6 people book, 2 drawings.

Do you do guest survey's? Where they fill out their information and whether they want a show etc.? I stick them in the folders and then we go over them together. I go over them line by line and then take them up and draw 1 for a prize ($ store item). I always let them know that by listing they want to hold a show, it doesn't mean tomorrow or next week. They can book next month but by listing a month/date, they can get included in the drawing.

Those work for me. My calendar is pretty full, but I want it 'fuller'! smileys/smiley36.gif I use at least one of those at every show and get at the very least, one booking per show, but usually more.

I feel like I'm leaving something else out...I'll post again if I think of anything else...

Edited b/c my memory came back:

I am also am constantly offering 'specials'. I offer my hostesses that book between certain dates, certain specials or offers. A percentage off or a free piece of jewerly etc. These specials come from me, not the company, so I can offer them anytime. I use them a lot when I want to increase my bookings in a certain time frame. Everyone seems to love a 'sale.' smileys/smiley2.gifEdited by: MamaK

I have had success playing the dice game. I have the ladies roll 3 dice and remember the total. Later during my presentation, I tell the ladies if they book a show, they can get any item up to $100 for the price they rolled on their dice. This usually does the trick! Depending on your discount and how much you want to chip in you can make it any price item. With lia sophia it is really easy to do $100 without costing me too much. So far the most I have had to chip in was $9. That's not too bad considering her show then was $1000!

Wait, let me get this straight. They roll 3 dice. Say they roll a 3, 1 and 6. That's only $10. You'll give them a $100 item for $10???

You may also try the balloon pop game.

Before the show, make itty bitty pieces of paper with a prize written
on them "10% extra Hostess benefits" "Free Bath Scrunchie"
"You've won a free Toy Surprise Soap" etc.

put one slip of paper in an un-flated balloon. Also
make one with a bigger prize (like $9) "Free Shower Gel" for the
hostess...be sure to label the balloon "Hostess" or you'll forget which
is which. </font>

During my demo I have everyone blow up their balloon and hang on to
it. Later I explain that EVERY balloon is a winner! In each there
is a coupon to reddeem for a prize, the only thing you must do is pop
your balloon. BUT the only way you are allowed to pop the balloon
is if you book a show.

If the hostess gets 3 bookings SHE gets to pop her balloon and claim the bigger prize!</span>

Party in a bag: Take a brownie/cookie mix, and votive candle with your hostess packet, put it in a brown bag and stick a date on the bag. Pass the bags around with your available date and let them know if they book a party, they get an instant party in a bag.

Talk to the hostess. Get her excited and focused on that booking.

Ask. smileys/smiley36.gif

Product box/toy box. Take some inventory, discount it and only offer it to those who book a party that they get something to take home today.

I love the mix idea with the votive! (Actually, I love all of the ideas, but I know the cookie mix one would work for me! I hate to entertain! )

PLUS, I do a lot of shows atmy house so it would be a great way to offer that as an option as well! :)

Thanks!!!

Yep! The way lia sophia is set up, I can get any item $100 or less for $15! Therefore if they roll over a 15, I have them reroll. So in your example, thier item only costs me $5, which is well worth the booking in my opinion. You can adapt this to your particular plan or discountas needed.

Lovin that Party in a Bag thing. I think I will make up one or two of those and take them to my open house on saturday. :)

When I am needing bookings, I always do "hot dates". I have these cards I laminated that have a red chili pepper on them...for hot. In a dry erase marker I put the date I am wanting to book a show for. I tell the guests if they book a show on one of my up-coming hot dates they will get an additional incentive.

I also do the party in bag or the party to go. That works.

Good luck!

Hey Bev~

It's when you pick someone at the party and start stacking all of the products and gifts that they would receive if they hosted a party (like pick a certain sales level to go off of). The visual in front of the person is usually enough to get people to book..instead of just hearing about what they might get.

Thanks for all the great ideas! I am definately going to try the party in a bag, and also stacking the hostess. Both are new to me!

I'm going to do similar to what deb said. i'm going to put out some products with a sticker on each.. and the color means something... so they can take one only if they are going to hold a party, and then they either get the product free, 10% off order, or free ship! so its a winwin.. they host, i'm happy, they get something else free or cheaper!
